cheap vs. expensive

So I like a lot of the cheap/novelty/jelly vibes on here based on looks alone, and own one or two cheap (hard plastic) vibes that I'm quite happy with.
For functional toys, I like glass and silicone, but I keep being tempted by jellies, because they're colorful and funny, not because I think they'll work out in the long term. Thoughts? Do you like to make long-term investments, or goof off once in a while?

I never buy jelly because it burns me and isn't safe. It contains phthalates. These can seep from the toy and get into the body. Not good. I only buy safe toys like silicone, glass, wood, etc. I generally buy things in the $100+ range.

I really like a huge variety, but NO jellies! My collection ranges from about $5.00-165.00 for now.

I'm all bout getting whatever's cheap but I never go for jelly unless I happen to have a large stockpile of condoms sitting around

I almost never buy jelly anymore, unless I plan on using it only temporarily until I get something better and even then, it's iffy. I don't care about the "fun, colorful" looks when I know the toy isn't safe and it's not going to last AND it smells AND it feels gross. I have the Zini Zook. It has "fun, colorful" choices AND it's made of 100% silicone (the best, silkiest, most awesome silicone I've ever felt).
