Why are the buttons on my G4 Tiger flashing like a sign on the Vegas strip?

When I touch the G4 Tiger — to move it around, not enjoy it — the three buttons on the base light up from top to bottom, then turn off.

Is it supposed to do that? Does that mean the toy is still on?

I read the instructions that came in the package, but I didn't see any mention of the buttons lighting up when not in use.

Yes, it has a sensor that makes it light up when you first touch it. As long as it charges well and works fine don't worry about it. Are you liking your tiger?

I don't have the G4 Tiger, but I do have FOU (another fun factory toy). I can't figure out what the lighting is for. Seriously, it seems to have a mind of it's own. It sits there are glows without being touched. And when you touch it it'll glow. It's strange. I can't figure out the lighting for it. Maybe all fun factory toys are like that?

I have the G4 Elegance and the buttons flash and glow eerily when I touch it. I guess it lets you know it's on. As long as it's working, this is normal. The buttons won't flash if the charge is low or over.

It does this, right?

Yes, they turn on one by one, stay lit for a second, then turn off one by one in the opposite direction. It's an odd feature.

I'm pretty sure it's called the 'Magic Touch' feature.

Ahaha what?! Why would a manufacturer bother with a feature that makes no sense to its users?

I like it because it makes it easy to find in the dark! If I'm reaching into my nightstand to grab a toy, I can always tell which one it is.

I agree, I like the Magic Touch feature. It makes the toy easy to control and find in the dark...and it's just plain fun that it lights up!

I can't turn on my G4 Tiger unless the lights turn on. :/
Is that the same for all the Tigers or is mine broken? It's frustrating to turn on because most of the time it doesn't sense anything at all and I'm left sitting there trying to get the lights to turn on.
