I’ve been eyeing the Nexus iSTIM for a while. When it came on sale for 50% off, I bought it immediately. After receiving the unit, I got curious about how much it would cost to buy a comparable TENS unit. I found this on Amazon: link
Specification for the Amazon TENS unit ($40):
Channels: Dual Channel, isolated between channels,
Pulse Amplitude: Adjustable, 0-100 mA peak into 500 ohm load each channel, Voltage: 0 - 50V (Load: 500 ohm),
Pulse Rate: Adjustable, from 2 to 150 Hz, 1 Hz/step,
Pulse Width: Adjustable, from 50 to 300 microseconds, 10uS/step,
Wave Form: Asymmetrical Bi-Phasic Square Pulse,
5 Modes: B(Burst)/N(Normal)/M(M odulation)/SD1(Strengt h Duration)/SD2,
Warranty: 6 Months
Specification for the Nexus iSTIM ($200, $100 sale price):
Channels: Dual Channel, isolated between channels,
Pulse Amplitude: Adjustable, 0-80 mA peak into 500 ohm load each channel,
Pulse Rate: Adjustable, from 1 to 160 Hz, 1 Hz/step,
Pulse Width: Adjustable, from 50 to 260 microseconds, 1uS/step,
Wave Form: Asymmetrical Bi-Phasic Square Pulse,
7 Modes: B(Burst)/N(Normal)/M(M odulation Width Mode)/MR(Modulation Pulse Frequency)/MRW(Modulat ed Pulse Frequency and Length)/SDR(Strength Intensity and Frequency Modulation)/SDW (Strength Intensity and Pulse Width Modulation),
Warranty: 1 year
Both units have a LCD screen, and come with belt clip. The Amazon TENS unit is stronger while the Nexus iSTIM come with 2 more modes. I’d say the iSTIM is probably still over priced even on sale for 50% off. The iSTIM does come with attachments that link the TENS unit to Glide, Neo, Titus, Excel and Vibro. However you can also purchase those attachments from Eden for 27 dollars.
