Are there different kinds of glass?

Different kinds of glass have different densities, and therefore different strengths. Pyrex is quite strong, and is therefore the choice for sex toys, for safety.

There is Pyrex glass, which is a borosilicate glass. Probably the strongest around. There is regular, plain old glass. Such as the kind you find cheap dishes made out of. There is also fake glass, which is horrible for you. If you want to know a little more about glass, please check out my latest review on Icicles No.24. It gives a brief overview of Pyrex

Yes there are different kinds of glass. Pyrex and the other glasses sex toys are typically made of are stronger than normal glass so that they won't break and if they do that they won't shatter. It is all for safety.

Nope. Glass isn't JUST glass. There's Borosilicate Glass, which is what all my glass toys are made of. Very resilient, soft, and just omg.

I would always look for "Borosilicate glass" when shopping for glass toys because it is very strong and can withstand most forms of play. You should still be very careful with anal or when thrusting deeply or for prolonged periods because you can injure yourself with glass due to its unforgiving nature.

Pyrex is a brand name for, as others have mentioned, borosilicate glass. Pyrex is one particular formula of borosilicate. "Regular" glass is simply the mineral silica which has been melted, then re-solidified to change its atomic structure. You can make glass by melting sand. When boron oxide is added to the glass, it makes the material change size much less in response to temperature changes; it also makes it shatter-resistant.
