Many vibrators come with a warning stating that they should not be used on "unexplained calf pain". Why is that? Why your calves, specifically? What about unexplained pain in other parts of your body?
Unexplained calf pain?

I would tend to think they were referring to blood clots in the leg. Having had a blood clot, they can be very dangerous when they shake loose and go to either the heart or the lungs. That would be my guess anyway...

Near as I've been able to tell, that's the reason. Blood clots are horribly dangerous.

OH wow! Never even thought about that. You have to imagine that someone has been sued or threatened with a suit because someone did use it in that way and either got hurt or it was fatal. Amazing the warnings and dangers companies have to address.

Thanks, folks! I just looked up some more information on blood clots.
From veindirectory.org: "Where do blood clots in veins usually occur?
The majority of blood clots in the veins occur in the legs but they can occur in any veins in the body."
I guess clots elsewhere in the body happen rarely enough for them to exclude other appendages and things from the warning!

I'm sure you are correct, but it still makes me giggle to imagine someone with a leg cramp screaming, "Honey! Get me my Tantus Echo, I have a charley horse!"

Yup, calf pain that you can't figure out can really be a blood clot.

Yah, unexplained calf pain could be a blood clot....but that would be a little odd, crippling calf pain and the first thing you think of is trying to vibe it out!

Agreed...but you know if they put a warning about it, SOMEONE must have tried it!
