Swings without a stand for it - would you still get one?

Contributor: DreamWolf DreamWolf
I so very much want a pleasure swing, but I find the idea of having to install it into a room doesn't appeal to me, especially because for now and a long enough time in the future W/we live in O/our W/wonderful RV, which W/we love as hell, and it would probably have the good spot in the ceiling for a swing (W/we have enough space for one), but I would still feel way more comfortable with a stand W/we could set up anywhere, being able to have the swing totally portable...

Not to mention that stands aren't only quite expensive, but they aren't even available here so one could use some points to push the actual price lower...

Would you still get a pleasure swing without a stand, and even buy a stand for it?

which swing would be best if you live in a trailer? I want to buy one for my friend.

I probably wouldn't get one without a stand if I lived in a standard house. Unless you're a tiny thing, most ceilings (unless you attach the swing to the actual frame of the house through the ceiling) won't safely support your weight. Not sure about in an RV, but I wouldn't try it.

No RV'S for the swing, I don't think. It needs to be screwed into a stud in the ceiling. It's actually VERY easy and much quicker than I'd expected. We have a new place and there's so many rooms that I'm able to fulfill my dreams of having a sex room and work room! We put our swing in there, but we don't always leave it up. The huge screw leaves a big hole up there though. I know you can buy stands for the swing, but I think they're expensive and not sold on EF? I could be wrong. However, I would not want to pay another hundred for a stupid stand. Still, there's nothing out there like the swing! I guess you'll have no choice but to use a stand. From what I seen back when I was only considering buying the swing, the stand didn't seem as fun. I like swinging in our swing! Lol. I mean swinging back and forth for a little fun sometimes. I won't ever buy a darn stand unless for some reason I HAVE to, but I wouldn't have bought the swing if I WAS going to have to get the stand too. Too much of a hassle and $ for me.

The pleasure swing will support up to 200 lbs just fine and you HAVE to screw it into a stud in the ceiling or it's not going to be safe. I would not ever try it without it being safely and properly installed because it might not look like a long drop, but it is and could really injure you. At first, I was really scared to even get in the swing. It took me a while the first time to get comfortable. There's just no way to make that kind of fall easy.. unless you put a trampalene under it!

I have the pleasure swing, without the stand. Read my review for more info about installation.
