Liberator Wedge vs. Wing

Contributor: Kindred Kindred
So I'm interested in buying one of the two pieces. The primary use would be as a couple. I'm intrigued by the option of the Wing to hold toys, however, I'm not sure my wife would really use it that way. Is the wing best used for solo play but can also work for couples? Is the Wedge better suited for use as a couple?

Thanks for any opinions/suggestions.

Bumping in hopes of getting some opinions.

I'd like to hear opinions on this as well. I know Alicia said she preferred the Wing and that she could also use it as a position aid for partner play. But if your wife most likely will not use it to hold toys for solo play and if she will, instead, SOLELY use it for partner play, I am thinking the Wedge would be better.

I wish I could just afford to get them all and try them out myself!

We have tried a version of the Wedge, while I liked the possibility's, the wife did not care for it much, only the doggie position did she like it. So I am leaning towards the Wing, It should work good for her likes and I can use it for toy's when she is not interested in playing around.

I suppose if I get the Wing, I could try to use it for hands free prostate play if my wife doesn't use it solo? Based on the reviews, it sounds like it would work as long as I use a toy that is not smooth. Anyone have any input if it could be used that way? Could I insert a harness dildo and straddle the Wing? My only concern would be that the insertion spot is towards the end and may be difficult to sit on it.

Given that anal activities can be more messy than vaginal ones, what would you do to keep the Wing clean, or would you just get several covers and wash after every use.

Note that if you aren't an anal expert smooth toys are much better to start with. For a textured toy to feel good anally you need to be able to keep your anus relaxed, even when things are starting to feel oh so good.

For partner play I'd probably go with the Wedge, primarily because it seems to be much more usable with two people than the Wing (that rounded top could make things difficult).

You bring up some good points. I guess I would wash the cover after every use, whether anal or vaginal as I imagine either way would get the cover dirty. I was thinking I could use it for anal play because reviews discussed using the Wing for double penetration. Honestly, I'm not sure how often I would use it, especially if I have to wash the cover each time.

In terms of partner play, I'm beginning to agree that the Wedge might be the better choice. I'm wondering if the Wing can be used for support, but only because it's another pillow whereas the Wedge is more specifically designed for this purpose. Thanks for your input.

I have used both the wedge and the wing. They are both great, but the wing is by far my favorite. The wing sits a little higher, and is rounded at the edges, so you can easily put the wing under your lower abdomen for support, and the rounded edges allow you to sort of rock back and forth... I guess movement is easier than the flat base of the wedge. Also, the shorter hight of the wedge is not as comfortable, for me anyways.

You can also use the wing under your backside, the same way you do the wedge, but it,s going to lift a little higher, and it's not as gradual. I have on occasion added a regular pillow under my back for extra support when using the wing this way. But to me, the wing offers so many more options, like hands free play that it's no big deal to grab an extra pillow for under my back... There is never a risk of getting the regular pillow dirty, so it doesn't bother me.

Another thing, smooth in texture toys made out of, say silicone can be used, but materials like hard plastic that are slippery slide around too much. I have found very few toys that I cannot use with my wing.

The cover on the wing will most likely have to be changed more often than with the wedge, if you are riding it. I wash after every use. However, I read about some covers that you can buy from sport sheets that just cover an area around the toy insertion point, that's way the mess gets on the small cover, not the whole wing cover.... Sounds soo convenient, I think I am going to try to find some.

I also want to mention that the wingnand wedge are both very firm foam, they hold their shape very nicely and the covers hold up very well. My wing gets washed at least once a week and I have had it for several months and it still looks great.

To me, the wedge is kind of a ine trick pony. You guys mentions double penetration... I have not tried it that way, but the toy insertion point is on one egde of the shape, so your back side is easily accessable while riding. If you are thinking of riding with your bum, you will just have to scoot forward a but, easy as pie.

I really love my wing... If you can't tell. Haha

I have both the wedge and wing as well, and I much prefer the Wing.

The Wedge we tend to use more so I don't slip and slide during rear entry positions if we're on the floor, but I have a few of the larger Liberator pieces which actually get more use than the Wedge and I find a lot more functional.

The WIng gets a lot more use. For us, the Wing is great to hold toys, and we use it a lot for double penetration, whether it's the Wing and 2 toys (one in the pocket and one balanced on top) or one toy and my husband. Used that way (facing the long end), the wing I find easier to hold on to, and it also keeps me from sliding all over the place. You can use it to help position, but we use it much more as a "riding" accessory.

We do wash the Wing cover every time, and I'd love to see the covers offered separately so I wouldn't have to wash it so darned much.

You can use the Wing with a smooth toy, if it has a flat base. I use it a lot with Randy, and the base slips between the cover and the foam insert. It sits right above the pocket, and doesn't go down in. That's the maximum base you can get into that slit in the top. As long as the base is wide enough to be held in place that way, any of your toys can be used on it. Preferably, the base is 1 1/2" or larger - if it's a lot smaller, it won't stay in place as well balanced that way, if that makes sense.

I love my Wing to death

Thanks both! I think you've both convinced me to go with the Wing

And I'm going to email Sportsheets inquiring about those covers. I'll post if I get a response.

Thanks for weighing in with your opinions, Syd and Sammi!

You know, I was wondering whether you could just place a sock around the base of a slippery toy (such as a glass wand) and secure the sock with rubber bands to make it remain stationary in the pocket. I'd love to try one of my glass wands with the Wing!

Oh, question for Syd and Sammi:

Would it be worthwhile to get the Wedge/Ramp combo AND the Wing? That would take a lot of saving up, but I've been intrigued by the combo for a long time now . . .

I do know I'd probably LOVE the Wing for solo play though!

I contacted both Sportsheets and Liberator and neither has a smaller cover for the toy area as you describe

However, I searched Sportsheets website and found these link which might work. My one concern is that it is described as being velcro and I'd be afraid it would snag the regular cover on the Wing. I'll email for more info.

I was considereing both also, I decided to go with the wing as per the advice I got from a reviewer who had tried both.

I contacted Sportsheets about the product and got the following information:

Thank you for contacting Sportsheets.

The dimensions for our Dildo Anchor Pads is 4.25 x 6.25 inches. The center hole is 1.5 inches. It does have Velcro. It is Velcro and it works on our Sportsheets or Pleasure Pillow Case. We have a new product that includes these with a dildo and our Hump Bump and Vibe. It’s called 5-Piece Vibrating Position Pillowcase Set with Silicone Dildo. Part number SS41700.

I hope I answered your questions. Please let me know if you need anymore information.

Those are exactly what I saw. I think they may work.... Hmm now I'm thinking Te Velcro may be harsh as well. I might have to just try it out. Another option might be to sew some myself or maybe get someone on easy to make some. The smaller cover really would be a great accessory to the wing.

I think it's worth it, especially if you don't have any other Liberator pieces. The Wing I wouldn't give up . The Wedge doesn't get as much use as it could, but that's because I'm enamored with my Esse.

I got the wing last week and I'm not sure the velcro will work on the cover. My other concern with a small cover with a cut out hole is the area between the cut-out and the toy. Lube will likely still get on the Wing cover. My next idea is to try inserting a thin piece of material/cloth with the toy so it completely separates the toy from the Wing. There seems to be enough room in the toy insertion hole to do this.

And we're still learning ways to have fun with it, but we are having fun

Maybe you could get the Throe? It repels body fluid and is supposed to wash up well. (Not that I know from personal experience since I don't have one yet. )

Ooh, I'm totally jealous that you have the Esse!

I think I need an entire room filled with Liberator furniture and position aids! (Says the woman who does not yet even have one Liberator item . . . ).

I wonder how the Wing compares to the Bon Bon . . .
