Mine is a $20 one from craigslist. Naturally, I hate it.
How do you like your mattress?
03/12/2011
My mattress is pretty great. It's a spring but has a large pillow top that is pretty cushy. Only thing I'd improve is bump it up from a full to a queen or king.
03/12/2011
I splurged on a TempurPedic about 5 years ago and love it.
03/12/2011
I sleep better on a memory foam mattress. When I was in a car accident a few years ago I couldn't sleep on any other kind of mattress because it hurt. Now I'm a fan of memory foam mattresses. So comfy!

I live in one-room apartment and sleep on a couch. Very expensive and really good one, but still I wish I had a bed
03/12/2011
however, I do have a memory foam topper...sooo nice and comfy

Uhg I hate my mattress sooo much!its so uncomfortable
I want a new one that's got a pillowtop so I can be comfortable

Several years ago we replaced our waterbed with a Select Comfort Number bed and we love it. Wife likes a softer bed, I prefer a slightly firmer bed, and this mattress keeps both of us happy!

Innerspring and I like a very firm mattress... not quite rock hard but not too far from it.

We sleep on a Futon. It's not very comfortable for sex or sleep. I'd prefer the couch, honestly, but it won't fit the two of us. We want a Tempur Pedic desperately, or even a waterbed.

I love my Tempurpedic!

we have a cheap damn regular mattress, but I like memory foams
03/14/2011
I like my mattress with the covers mussed and my naked husband under them.
Oh wait! That is what happens when I don't read the entire question!

My mattress is fairly comfortable. It has a layer on top though that makes it softer but still firm.

I hate firm mattress's. I can not sleep in a hotel or at the in-laws house. I love my soft mattress with a feather mattress topper.

I need to ask a question about those Tempurpedic mattresses, where you can set each side differently.
Every time My Man and I see a commercial for on on TV he looks at me (or I look at him) and he says, "Where do you fuck? Is there a hard seam down the middle?" I am interested to know. Does the firmness differ enough to impact sex, especially if you use the whole bed, like we do, and often end up in the middle? Is there a seam in the middle?
Are the Man and I the last people on Earth with a waterbed?

TempurPedic... worth the investment

Sounds like you may be refering to a Comfort Select (Sleep Number) bed. If so, yes there is "ridge" dowm the middle. The ridge is caused by a piece of foam which seperates the two sides, and although covered with a pillow top mattress pad, it still can be felt. We usually use just one side of the bed so there is no problesm. At other times we will adjust my wifes side up to same number as mine and the ridge is not noticeable.

You may well be the last people on Earth with a waterbed, as I think we were the second to last!

Thank you for the answer. You are right, I was talking about the Comfort Select (Sleep Number) bed.

We are ALL OVER the place when we have sex, sometimes we "come to" and someone will say, "How the hell did I get all over here?" We often also lie sideways on the bed, so the ridge would be hitting us in the back, or belly or whatever part is presenting down.
An hour or so ago, we had to check the mattress (unzip it etc, as it is a waveless with a mattress like cover on it) because we thought it was losing water. No leaks. *sigh* I'm stuck with this bed.

The one i have at my house is extremely soft and confortable but the one at my apartment right now is just okay.

My husband and I really dislike our mattress. I fall asleep on our futon couch much faster than I do in bed. :/ Unfortunately we'll be replacing other things long before the mattress and probably won't get anything amazing because he's in the military and you never know when it's time to go.

I LOVE my mattress! It's memory foam, but it's a firm memory foam. I need some good support or my back hurts, and the memory foam is great for that.

I have a firm queen size innerspring mattress with the soft pillow top - the type that ya don't flip over. It wasn't highly expensive but definitely not cheap either.
I like my mattress - it's firmly supportive but also soft enough with the pillow top that it doesn't make ya ache.
I'd love to buy one of the $5,000 latex ones next time.

My mum loves her waterbed. She just got the gel crystals ya can now use so it's not just sloshy water. It's a great idea and then if the bed happens to spring a leak - ya won't have water everywhere.
I'd imagine it's much easier to have sex on the gel than plain water.

Mine is firm but soft on top--the best of both!
04/01/2011
Ours is a really firm. My hubby likes it that way. It took me ages to get used to it. Now when I go away I find it really hard to sleep and most places have medium mattresses and they are to soft now.

My mattress is horrible. I bought it sometime after I separated from my ex-husband and needed a new bed quickly. A coworker was moving and selling her queen pillowtop mattress, boxsprings, headboard, loft, footboard, dresser, nightstand, and giant mirror. For under $800. We were both in a hurry so I took it because I like sleeping high up and I love four-post beds. The craftsmanship isn't great but the pillowtop makes up for it--firm, yet with some give. It really makes my back happy. And I usually prefer super firm.

I'd like a waterbed but I'm in a rental and they don't really allow them in most leases.
My bed is so darned squeaky. It was fine until I started dating and having my partner sleep over and eventually move in. I don't know if it was the sex or the weight or WHAT but it squeaks and it never did! It pisses off the guy downstairs (who decided to be DELIGHTFUL and instead of knocking on the door the next day, or writing a note like a NORMAL person, he SLAMMED on his ceiling so hard I jumped up and yelled and he did it twice that week and I developed this crazy complex about sex....).

I like my mattress not to soft but not to firm!

I have an innerspring, 1 year or Yatas Venus but I think I'll change it in a few years if money allows and if I find something better.
