I"m going to be buying SOME sort of wedge/ramp type pillow next month. Both help with positioning but which type is the best bet? Both are the same basic size, both have removable, washable covers, one is foam while the other is inflatable. I don't want to end up with something bulky that I don't use and can't store but I also don't want to feel like I'm on a camping air mattress. Help!

Is the Liberator Ramp really that much better than the Doc Johnson Wedge?

How about storage?

One is foam, the other inflatable. Does the foam truly justify a $90 price difference?

I haven't tried the Ramp, but I sooooooooo love the Liberator piece that I have.
It was honestly worth every penny.

I really have no clue because I have tried neither but I think they both have their pros and cons. In the end I think I would go with the ramp because it is made of higher quality material but I would have a house before I would buy a ramp because it is so big I wouldn't want it to be out all the time.
05/04/2009
I haven't tried either, but I would imagine that the foam would be infinitely better for comfort and the "sturdy" factor. However, I've always wondered if it's really worth it to spend so much on a wedge that you might be able to more easily and cheaply find at some store selling general cushions?

Do you just leave it out all the time or does it tuck away fairly easily? Is it "obviously" a sex piece or would it be mistaken for something you can recline on to watch tv if left in the living room?

We have the Esse, which doesn't tuck away anywhere easily. It's not obviously a sex piece unless you have the black label cover on. The kids sit on it to watch tv, and even friends that have come over just think it's just a cool "space chair". It actually is comfy to lay on and watch tv - course, it's better for other things

We have the wedge ramp combo and it is very nice. It can be hidden in the bottom of a closet or under your bed it you have a tall bed.
05/28/2009
We have the wedge ramp combo and love them both. We do use the wedge more often so I think it is a good choice. Have fun finding all the new angles of sensations.

Liberator beats any inflatable.
10/20/2010
There's really almost no way to make an affordable inflatable that wouldn't have the "camp air bed" effect. Go with the Liberator if you can.

Carrie Ann I am thinking the Liberator is the way to go *says the girl that has tried neither but has read 1 too many reviews*

I have the Pipe-dreams inflatable position master and love it. I have yet to ty the nicer ramps. But I like how I can deflate it and not have to worry about storage. It works well too. I can't imagine (other then comfort) that they are all that different.
02/09/2011
I prefer a nice quality foam over an inflatable.
02/15/2011
Foam is by far better because it is always ready to go
03/15/2011
I will say this for inflatables: You can vary how much air is in them to vary the experience. We have a blowup with handles which aids in thrusting.

The Ramp for sure.
03/27/2011
The liberator stuff is awsome, but I have run into the problem of not having enough room to put all the different liberator pieces that I have. You will be amazed by how quickly you can fill up your closet with those things. They are addicting and you end up buying more.
03/28/2011
Foam all the way. I don't know about inflatable but it seems wrong.
04/21/2011
liberator!

Liberator Ramp!
05/05/2011
liberator my next buy
05/30/2011
Definitely liberator, an inflatable ramp seems awkward and uncomfortable

Liberator foam over inflatable

My cats always damage inflatable things, so it's an obvious choice for me.
10/01/2011
NO contest. Sorry...EVERYTHING from Liberator is TOP QUALITY and worth every single cent. Period.
10/01/2011
I can't wait to get some liberator products.
10/02/2011
Yes. Liberator is worth every penny. Tried an inflatable ranp, it deflated gradually. Very irritating. Liberator's stuff only feels like foam in that it's light and it gives enough to be comfortable. It is STURDY.
10/05/2011
The foam of the Liberator is much more sturdy than any inflatable would be. I have the ramp/wedge combo. They are great.
10/16/2011
I love both
10/19/2011
The Ramp looks nicer.
12/05/2011
I laughed at the idea of the inflatable popping. Glad to see others think like me out there!
12/05/2011
Never used either, but heard so much hype about liberator. Personally, I planned to go with Doc Johson's for our very first one. Just to be sure before we invest so much. Lol. I'm sure both are really nice though!
12/07/2011
I have not tried either, but foam never pops. So I would go with the liberator. That ramp is actually on my wishlist too.

Liberator all the way
01/30/2012
I'd say go with Liberator. I have lots of Liberator and HAD an inflatable wedge from Pipedream. It smelled inflatable, wasn't as sturdy as foam, and may have developed a slow leak. I'm not sure. We got rid of it a long time ago. With inflatables, you'll always have to deal with the initial smell and the threat of it deflating.
02/06/2012
I would think the Liberator would last longer.
02/16/2012
I'd worry that an inflatable wouldn't offer the same support as something solid.

Foam is better I think but the wedge is much better for the money
07/14/2012
I have the ramp and like it a lot.
07/14/2012
I have the liberator wedge ramp combo with the conversion kit and I love it. I would never buy inflatable furniture.
07/28/2012
I would not go for the inflatable one. Foam is better!
07/28/2012
Apparently you get what you pay for. I haven't heard anyone question the Liberator's line for satisfaction. I'm particularly interested in their bean bag style line, it looks really interesting.
07/28/2012
avoid the inflatables
07/28/2012
foam definitely, i wont even waste money on an inflatable.

What's more of an advantage? A pricier foam pillow that can be used for other things and is more difficult to store or the less expensive inflatable that can be deflated and easily tucked away when not in use?

For storage, being able to deflate it makes a HUGE difference. I do think you would be unable to get away from the "air mattress" feel while using it though.

I loathe being indecisive and should probably know by now that it's best not to skimp but the storage factor just keeps me hemming and hawing.
05/04/2009
If you don' think it's too obvious, you won't have to worry about storing the Ramp. Otherwise, being deflatable is a huge plus for the Wedge.

As a counterpoint to the storage issue, I'd point out that something ready to go at all times will actually get used, while the thing that has to be blown up will spend most of its life in a closet.

Liberator Ramp!
05/05/2011
The time it takes to get the Ramp out is less than it takes to pump up the inflatable one (unless that's self-inflating I don't know). I have successfully put the Ramp in my bed's trunk
05/31/2011
Our Liberator tucks under the bed or hides in the corner.
10/02/2011
I wish Liberator would use some color schemes that aren't 'sex' oriented. Black, red, purple, and animal print? People don't decorate with those colors. Give us some beige, light blue, gray - something we could just have tossed on the bed or sofa to pass off as a comfort thing.
10/02/2011
Liberator stuff can just as easily be a wedge pillow if you get one of the less intense colors. I really do wish they'd expand their decor line, though.

Personally, since my boyfriend loves pillows, I'd just store it on his side of the bed But being inflatable for most people would be a huge plus.

The ramp is so massive...
