Titanmen cock ring (Doc Johnson) General discussion/Q&A

Contributor: samtheman411 samtheman411
I just bought my first ring at a local sex shop. First off, I regret not buying a metal one, a large metal one. But this one was cheap, and I see the expense as a learning experience, so for that its worth it!

Anyway, I immediately found that this ring felt EXTREMELY tight on me. I have just about a 2in girth. I almost immediately started feeling severe discomfort, pretty much just straight pain all through my cock. I was just wondering if some of you who were more knowledgeable on the subject could fill me in...

First off, am I really supposed to be able to use this one on my cock AND balls? It seems even way too tight on my shaft alone. Secondly, should I put it on before or after I get hard? Third, could this one be too tight for me or am I just a wimpy amateur? =P

If this one ultimately isn't going to work out for me, what else should I try? I was intrigued by the adjustable leather cinch one, as it would obviously fit, and I could use it on either just the shaft, or both easily. But the metal ones look very appealing.

I'm not an expert by any means, but the first thing I'd say is that if it hurts, stop using it, which it seems like you've done. Some rings are meant to be used just on the shaft, and some are meant to be used around the shaft and the balls. The biggest determining factor is mostly whether or not you can comfortably fit both in there. If not, use it just on your shaft. You should feel a slight loss of circulation, but you shouldn't be in pain (unless your specific toy was meant specifically for inflicting pain) and you shouldn't go numb. For rings that go around the cock and the balls, especially ones that are hard like metal, it's best to put those on before you get hard.

I don't really have much experience with cock rings that aren't stretchy, but Dwtim should be able to give you some good advice on using solid cock rings. I know we have a few other knowledgeable guys but I can't think of them off the top of my head

The TPR Titanman ring is just 1" in diameter and is show as a penis only ring and based on your experience it's apparently not flexible enough to work as a cock and ball ring. Cock and ball rings are typically about 2" in dia - some a little larger and some smaller.

As a beginner I used a 2" silicone ring. Once I got the hang of it I went to 2" metal rings and love them. Here's my latest review link

Good luck.

Hey thanks for such a quick response!

So you think I should just start with the beginner silicone ring? Upon initial use of the titanman, I felt like one that was for both the shaft and balls would be much better.

Oh and gunsmoke, that is an excellent review. Well done! I don't really know what else I would need to know about that product. I like the idea of a round-edged ring as well, pressure points OUCH! I think I would like to opt for that one. However, while I am 23 years old, I still live at my parents house... haha fuckin economy cant even give a college grad a good job. I am reluctant to start getting sex toys mailed to my parents house =P. Also, for that price, I'd want to be dam sure that I get the right size. Any tips on how to really be sure its the right size? My shaft is just about 2in diameter, so the 2 1/8" would be the one for me, no?

Again, thank you guys for the info and support.

Hi samtheman411, welcome to the joys of cock rings. haha

First things first, you say you are "About 2" in girth". About is not really the best thing to go off of, especially when considering a metal ring. So, do this; take a piece of string and wrap it around your penis and pull it snug (not to tight), next take a pen/marker and mark were the string over laps, measure the distance between marks. This is your circumference. Take that measurement and divide by pi (3.14) and this will give you diameter. I recommend doing this three or four times over different days. Some days you can be bigger than others. This will give you a base line of your size. This can also be done for the "Whole Package" as in cock and balls use.

Lets start with soft material rings. Look for something about 1/4-3/8" smaller than your size for starters. Another thing to consider is some materials, like Silicone will not stretch as much as Jelly or TPE. So if the ring you are looking at is made of Jelly, you can go smaller, say 1/2". These can be put on either hard or soft, just remember to use a bit of lube to help get it in place. Trimming pubic hair may help also, nothing worse than pulled hairs, eh?

For metal, ceramic, wood or stone rings go slightly bigger to start. Remember that a hard material ring will not come off till you go soft, at least not as easily. If you get it to tight you may have to go see the ER and that will not be fun. Plus damage to blood vessels and bruising can result form a ring that is too tight. Trust me, that is not fun. A big purple spot on your cock does not look to appealing.

For hard rings I find that the easiest way to put one on is to start with a hot shower or bath, this lets the boys hang which will aid in putting the ring on. Then put one testicle through first, then the other and then stuff your cock into it. Because of this you need to be soft. This may be tricky at first but with experience it will become easier. After climax you can reverse the procedure or a lot of the time the testicles will slip out first. Use a good lube, with most of the hard materials silicone lube works best. It will out last your sex/masturbation session whereas water based lube tend to dry out.

One last bit of universal advice, do not wear a cock ring for more than 30 minutes without an hour or so in between. Also, do not fall asleep with one on, think morning wood. Think of it like a tourniquet, no blood means no oxygen is getting to your penis. This is also one of the reasons I recommend going a bit bigger for the harder materials, if it is to tight you could have problems, slightly loose and you can wear it longer. If the ring becomes uncomfortable or you feel pain, stop what you are doing and get it off asap. I find thinking about doing yard work works well or a cold shower

After you use a few you will learn what rings work for you and the size you need.

Best of luck. Feel free to check out my reviews (13 cock rings) and ask any questions you may have. I am pretty much around every day.

The best thing to do is start with a silicone ring. A 2" will stretch a bit - but when it gets to metal make sure you measure. Wrap a string around the areas that the ring will encircle, measure the length of the string and divide by Pi (3.141) - that should give you a good number - and yes 2-1/8" could well be the right number for you.

Good luck finding a job and moving on.

I am attempting to stretch out my titanman ring by leaving it on the wide end of a shot glass. It has already been on there for over 24 hours, but I don't want to take it off yet. Has anyone had success with this? I am hoping it will be larger, or at least a little less constricting as a result.

Oh so I did the diameter math a few times. I'm 23, so I get boners alot haha. Especially with help from the girlfriend, who has been more than willing to help in this whole procedure.

I came up with a general number between 1.69 and 1.8. With that being said, do you guys think the ring I have should work with that girth? Or am I correct in assuming its too tight?

I got between 2.35 and 2.38 for the combination of twig and berries. That was with the string rather snugly cinched around. But not to the point where I felt I was putting pressure. So given this information, what would you veterans advise?

With an unstretched diameter of 1", ya I would say that one is too small. I have tried to stretch out rings and it does not work all that great unless you use heat with more than likely ruin it.

For your measurements of the shaft, average them out to 1.75. This would be the size (unstretched) to go for with silicone and metal rings (Sucks that metal rings are limited to sizes, mostly 1/4" increments) and 1.5 for TPR, TPR Silicone TPE etc..

For the "Twig and Berries". Not to many rings come in that size (at least on EF), of the ones I found I would give this one a shot. Since it is 2 1/4" unstretched it should be just about right. As long as there is no problems with it you can then try a metal ring of the same size.

Something else to look at is one like the 5 speed cock strap, The snaps will allow some adjustment and the leather will not stretch much. My first cock ring was like that one and I have enjoyed it more than 20 years.

I will probably buy that beginner one tonight. As you have obviously gotten things from here before, should I be concerned about the package coming to my PARENTS house though? I would really like to avoid my parents or my 16 year old sister seeing a sex toy package... I would imagine they are like other sites and do a good job with this matter though...

The 5-speed one looked good at first, but if you look at the pictures, it looks like some of the snaps will be pressed up against the skin, which i cant imagine being comfortable during sex, let alone pressed hard up against the sensitive skin of the general area.

It's just a shame that I already spent 10 bucks on the first one, and now the beginner one is another 23.99 plus shipping, when ultimately I would just want a metal one; which might even run me another 50 bucks.

What about THIS one in comparison to the tantus beginner one? And what about THIS as oppose to the potentially uncomfortable 5 speed?

Shipping is sent to you in a white USPS box or brown UPS box, the label will only say "Web Merchants".

I never noticed the snaps during use but that is not to say you won't. The only thing I ever had a problem with is getting skin caught in the snaps. Ouch! A little practice will help there.

The first ring you linked would be fine but you may only be able to use two of the three. The only problem I see with the second would be adjusting it while it is on, you could suck some skin in there while pulling it tight. If you do go with that one you may want to adjust it and then put it on, try the fit, remove it if necessary and adjust it some more. Once you get it to the right size, mark it somehow.

It is not unheard of to try two or three until you find one that works for you.

I will be driving past the shop in town again tomorrow. Maybe I'll have to just mosey on over and see what they got xD. I will be sure to update!

Okay so I went by the shop again, and I couldn't resist stopping by xD

They didn't have anything exactly like what we have talked about, so I sadly left empty-handed... I plan on buying a couple things from this site tomorrow once I get paid. Haha, money well spent though!

However, I would like to go back to talking about the titanmen ring I originally started with. I had said I was attempting to stretch it out a little by leaving it on the wide end of a shot glass. I left it that way for 48 hours, and SUCCESS! IT FITS! It is much more comfortable now, yet I definitely see a significant increase in bulkiness of my member. I have had two trials with it so far, only by myself though since the gf is away for another week. But, I am very happy with the results of this ring now that I have successfully stretched it out a little. I am leaving it off the shot glass, we will see if it goes back to being too tight or if I can continue to use it. I will continue to update for those in the future who have questions. Since, if i found this thread when I went looking, my questions would have been answered!
