SinFive Emigi

Contributor: Just Jen Just Jen
After storing my Emigi for a few days, after washing and drying, I noticed that it had a kinda foul smell to it. It went away some after washing, but the smell lingers. I don't know how to really describe the smell and it's not on any of the other toys in my toy box. Does anyone else notice that?

I don't have an Emigi yet. I ordered one yesterday, so I'll have on later this week. But, I wear a Diva Cup. It's a silicone menstruation cup. I read about someone having a similar issue with their cup. Several people recommended putting the cup on a window sill to allow the ultra violet light from the sun sanitize the cup (for a day or two). It may work for the Emigi too. I couldn't hurt to try.

Hmmm... No, I haven't had this problem with my Emigi. I don't know if the ultraviolet would do anything additional, since the material itself is infused with an antimicrobial agent. Perhaps the Emigi wasn't completely dry before you stored it? You might want to leave it out for a couple of hours before you put it up.

I have it and haven't had that problem at all. Try washing it again and leaving it out to dry. Or can you wash it with baking soda to eliminate orders at all? Not sure if possible with an antimicrobial plastic.

I had the same problem but I left mine out to air dry on a clean towel overnight and poof the nasty smell is gone! Now it just smells rubbery, but I suppose that's to be expected.

Let us know how it turns out. I should have my Emigi in a couple days so I'd like to know what works for you.
