New to Glass Toys

Contributor: captainsgirl captainsgirl
I have never used a glass toy, but am wanting to try one? What do you recommend for a first timer? Also, any tips or tricks with them? Finally, why do you like glass toys?

Try the Amethyst. It's very popular, affordable and has two useful ends and great for G spot or anal.

I've tried ones with nubs. I can't feel them, but other people can.

I'd recommend the Gold Laced G. It was my first glass toy. It's gorgeous, has a non-intimidating slender shaft, the texture is also very subtle, it has a base so it can be used both vaginally and/or anally, and is inexpensive.

For me, it really depends on how pronounced the nubs are. Have you tried the Rainbow Nubby Wand? That's one I would not recommend to glass beginners.

It has a lot of texture...and it's not subtle! I second the Amethyst, or something with bubbles like Sapphire Falls.

Well, I wouldn't recommend it as a first glass toy because of how pronounced the nubs are. Texture on glass is not like texture on other toys because there is absolutely no give to the material. You may love nubs on a squishier toy but dislike them on glass. For a beginner, I'd recommend a toy with less texture, to allow the user to get a feel for the new material. The Nubby Wand isn't a bad toy, just not one I'd recommend to beginners. I own quite a few glas toys and don't actually use this one very much because I find the texture is way too much for me.

I have ones where the textures are that pronounced. For some reason I'm just not that sensitive to texture. Go figure.

My first glass was the Rainbow swirl and it made me fall in love with glass. It has a slight curve for g-spot stimulation and some texture but it is mild for beginners. The Avalon is another good one. It's double ended. One side is a smooth thinner shaft and the other has bulges for that texture feeling.

What about the Amazing swirls – double ended dildo? Also, how do you spice up using your glass toys? Ever placed in freezer for cold affect? What other suggestions do you have?

Glass toys are very unyielding, but very easy to clean They don't hold lube well however.
