What is the MOST money you could even envision paying for ANY kind of sex toy?

I was just reading another posting about the $6,000 "REAL DOLLS" and how most comments were about how "rediculously expensive" they were, HOWEVER I find it funny how we have gone in one generation from paying $10,000 for a "top of the line Cadillac" to accepting a tiny buzz box import for $35,000, and how we can go from $15 for a top of the line vibe, to an easy $300 now, for some "premium" toys, and yet we all "draw the line" somewhere...with this FULL BODY SIZE TOY being called "too expensive". Would it be "more reasonable" to most people at $1000? $3000?

What IS the "current high end price point" for a sex toy???? Great question.

Some folks pay $150,000 for their car (or more), and I am sure some pay $10,000 or more for a sex toy, without thinking twice, but those are RARE folks. Where is the REAL "middle of the road" on this???

What is the MOST money you could ever envision paying for ANY kind of sex toy or device???

In the same breathe, money is worth less than it was then--in the era of the $10,000 cadillac (well, more specifically, 1958, with the $13,000 Fleetwood Series 70) the national average wage was between 3,600 and 4,600, depending what source you're looking at--so THAT car was 2.5 years average salary, easy. Would you pay 2 years wage (that's before taxes, not after) on a car?

Anyway, to answer your question, my tipping point is between $250 and $300. If it's more than $200, I put a lot of thought into it. If it's more than $300 my answer is almost always "no."

Our limit would be around $300 for a premium toy.

While $10K might seem like a lot for a sex toy, there are those that pay similar money for ONE night with an escort.

Good question. I must be cheap, because I would be shocked if I ever spent much more than $100 on one item. Think I bought my wife the hitachi wand for $50, and she likes it ok. Larger expense has not usually translated into greater pleasure to this point. I have considered a fleshlight, but even that seems like more than I want to spend.

I'm not really sure what my max is. I've spent around $200 for one toy before. I think the most I'd spend would probably be $500 and it would have to be something really amazing. But then I was looking at the Little Platinum for a while and had it been stronger I just might have bought it and that costs 3k. So I don't know. I'd like to think I have a $500 cut off because spending more than that seems a little crazy. I do crazy stuff now and again! It would all depend on the toy. If one day a Hitachi strength, small sized, diamond encrusted vibrator comes out, well, I just may have to have that.

I'm cheap. I'd be hard-pressed to pay more than $75 out of pocket for one toy, I'd think unless I was *really* convinced of its abilities

I'm planning on buying a sybian within the next 5-7 years, so I guess a few grand.

It would really depend on the item.

I would depend of a few things, who good the toy was, if I had anything better ahead of it on my to buy list, how much money I am making at the time.

At this point in my life, I can't really justify over $100, maybe $200 if I had saved up and I was very, very sure of it.

After college and hopefully having a better-paying job ? I don't really know, I'll have to wait and see how it works out - eventually having a mortgage and a car payment and all that, I don't know how exactly my disposable income will look.

But it seems to me that there are plenty of great toys in the $50-200 range, so I don't think it would be a huge issue.

I've always thought the more creative/fantasy Real Dolls were really neat as art pieces (they don't really appeal to me sexually), but I think I'd rather spend the money on a really nice vacation or smaller art pieces.

Something similar - I am horribly indecisive as to which one

I would never spend more than $70.00 on a sex toy, and that's REALLY pushing it.

I agree, the amount people spend on escorts is ridiculous! I wouldn't spend more than a few hundred on a toy for myself. If I was with someone that wanted to deck out our bedroom with liberator furniture, I could foresee spending a few grand.

This topic reminds me of Office Space, when he asks, "what would you do with a million dollars?"

Probably about $200. For example, I really want an Eleven, but I'm not going to drop $300 cash on it, that's a full paycheck.

Yes I want one of these. They also have another machine that is supposed to thrust. Aside from that I get iffy past 110.00 since that is what my FF vibes were.

This is a really tough question to answer. I like to think of it based on the amount of work it took to make the toy and the quality of materials used. I can justify $20 for a simple vibrator made of hard plastic, or $100 for a high quality silicone cock (Like Vixen says- "Worth every inch"). And considering the amount of work that goes in to producing serious leather gear, I can easily justify dropping serious cash for something that will last a lifetime with proper care. But my gear is like a part of me, and I understand that not everyone feels the same way.

I like a good deal as much as the next person, but putting a maximum on it is hard. If you include bondage equipment into this equation, well, there is bondage furniture that justifiably runs into the five to twenty thousand dollar range, including custom made bondage beds with stocks on the footboard and a full size cage underneath. It's a far off goal...

(An aside- I once saw a video on the making of Real Dolls, and lemme tell ya, SO MUCH WORK goes into making those dolls that their price is understandable. Even though what they do doesn't personally appeal to me, I can't help but respect them for doing it well.)

I'm kind of stuck in between, because I'd rather have fewer higher-end toys (not just because they're nice but because of my impulse to avoid accumulating crap I don't want) than lower-end ones. Dildos seem easy to get in a wide range of prices, but vibrators are the kicker for me. So most of what I want is above $60-70, but then it's hard for me to spend more than $100. Man, I wish we could test-drive these things the way people do cars.

I really want a Liberator couch someday. They cost somewhere in the range of $400. Hopefully one day that amount is feasible for me to spend on a sex item.
