Which kegel exerciser is best for someone who has no experience with them?

Contributor: SugarLips SugarLips 11/18/2011

I am really interested in getting a kegel exerciser but have absolutely no experience with them. I have a limited budget and I'm looking to get the best value but also the best results possible. Which of these is best for a beginner?

Which kegel exerciser would you choose for a beginner, who has never had any experience with them before?

NONE OF THE ABOVE - Spend a few more dollars and get the Ami instead, you'll have three different shapes to work with. If you pick one from your compared products list, and if it doesn't work for you, you're stuck with one useless exerciser. Trust me, you won't regret it!

I got Lelo's luna balls as my first vaginal exerciser, and I really like them because you can switch out weights, or just use one, so it gives you lots of options.

I second the recommendations to hold out and get either the Ami or the Luna. Both growth with you by weight (Luna and Ami) or size (Ami). They are well worth the extra money over the other options you listed.

I've got the original Smartballs, Ami, and the Emigi. I feel like I have another set, but I can't recall. Another thing to consider is how... well, for lack of a better term, stretched out your vaginal muscles are. Whether you've had children, whether there's been extreme insertions (fisting, so on), etc.

As someone who's always been fairly tight as it is, with no children nor extreme insertions or anything special like that, the Smartballs and the Ami 1 are totally useless for me, in kegel exercising regards. They're stimulating, but they stretch more than they help tone the muscles. I adore my Emigi and the Ami 3.

never used them before either. but very interested in them. can they get lost or stuck? I people say things cannot get stuck in a vagina. But I beg to differ, I have had a tampon get stuck before and it was no fun. so wahts the read deal here?

Honestly, kegel excersizes can be done with the same exact results if you simply squeeze them. Lol. I don't use the balls. It's much easier to just sit around and do kegels without having to insert something. I do want to try some of the weighted balls to see what all this hype about amazing orgasms are and the sensation of them clanging together. If you really want to do kegels you can do them without the balls as well though.

I say Emigi. It's all one piece so it prevents pinching and such from having two balls on a cord.

I completely agree. I haven't posted in this thread yet since it seemed like you were set on balls but Kendra is absolutely right. If it's been a few days since I've kegeled and I kegel like I usually do, I will actually have sore PC muscles the next day.

Here's my suggestion. Set aside a few minutes at least once/day to do this. Lie down with your knees bent and squeeze as hard as you possibly can for up to 30 seconds or as long as you can hold it. Then relax for 15 seconds. Repeat 10 times. Do not try to do anything else as you do this. Any distraction at all will result in you not squeezing as hard and you'll get less benefit.

I usually have nothing inside when I do this but sometimes I'll put the Kegelcisor inside. It feels terrific to have that inside as you exercise. I don't use the Kegelcisor as the directions say to use it. I just leave it in and squeeze on it.

I have a low opinion of the usefulness of ball exercisers. They're not worth it in my opinion. You're certainly not getting much benefit by leaving them in as you do other things and squeezing now and then when you think about it, the way I think many people use them.

I do Kegels now (when I can remember anyway) but I had read about these and the extra benefits and thought they might be fun to try and also, I might be more likely to remember to do kegels if I had one of these products!

Lelo Luna Bead System. I only use them for extra stimulation as I move. They feel awesome.
But for kegels, I just do them without anything inserted - I find it much easier.

I always forget to do my kegels so I've been looking at the ami or lunaballs but haven't decided which one i want out of those yet. I've had 2 kids vaginally so I know I need the extra help.

I have used balls twice and they never did anything for me but I do exercises w/o anything ((doing so now as I type).
I have developed strong Kegels this way, as my partner will attest, as I flex them during sex!

For that price, it's a steal. I have the Emigi and the Ami kit, and I like both. So in terms of value, Emigi is really up there.
