I can't stand the look of toys that are transparent...I don't want to see the guts of the toy, it makes it seem cheap to me. Does anyone else get turned off by the see through toys?

Is it just me, or does it bother you too?

They look jelly (or actually are jelly) and I just think cheap and unsafe when I think of jelly, honestly.

I have a plastic toy (Actually, I think it's the Ammunition) where you can see the motor spin and change with the settings, which I just think is too cool. I understand people who don't like to see the motors and such, though.

Makes no difference to me, its all about how they function as a toy that matters.

I like plastic clearish toys, I love seeing the motors. But jelly toys are not good
06/23/2012
I like seeing the motor actually, but usually those clear toys are jelly which is a huge turn-off. I like the clear plastic ones though. Clear silicone would be cool, as would clear glass.

This is pretty much how I feel, too. Unless it's got cool rotating stuff inside to be shown off, I usually just think of cheap jelly when I see such products.

that doesn't really bother me

It's not that big of a deal for me but I think I would prefer not to see the motor and such. I do love see through glass toys though

It doesn't bother me if the toys are plastic.

I think it is more about function than what it looks like. But, I do agree that it does make some look cheap.

It doesn't bother me, but I can see how one might find it cheap looking.

My first butterfly is clear and I love it. The first model I had that malfunctioned got cloudy and looked horrid. However the replacement has not done that yet (maybe cause I use a condom with it) nor has it jammed. It looks cleaner because I can see through it.

I steer clear of jelly toys all together. Transparency doesn't bother me as long as it functions well.

Doesn't bother me

It bothers me when I can see the inside of any controls; that looks cheap to me.
Those examples though I don't think are too bad, they sorta show you how it's going to work, kind of, which I think can be hard to tell with quirky shaped solid color ones.

They kinda appeal to me, but then again, I don't stare at them while using them.

I don't find them appealing. My very first vibrator was that way and it really was a cheap piece of jelly junk. Maybe it's the negative association there.
06/23/2012
I don't really like them. I'm fortunate enough to have never used a jelly vibrator, so it's not the association. I can only explain it as a general preference for a clean, simple appearance that's not broken up by visible motors and batteries and what not.

For those toys, yes, because they're made of cheap jelly. On the other hand, I have a really bullet where both the bullet and the controller where made of transparent, hard, dark purple plastic, and the entire thing looks really cool. I literally spent 5 minutes watching run, being slowly turned on by the sound of the motor.

But then again I have a tech!kink.
06/23/2012
It depends on the toy. I can be done well sometimes.
06/23/2012
Unless it's a glass dildo I wouldn't buy it probably. Seeing the balls inside and the motors is a turn off plus most are jelly like everyone else said, I'm a big fan of silicone especially with how safe it is in comparison.

Doesn't really bother me, although I think some of the clear masturbators look wierd. Not a turn off though

I don't especially want to see all the wiring inside a toy, it's rather ugly. It's not like looking inside a Swiss watch and marvelling at the beautiful craftsmanship of the mechanism.

Does look cheap to me...

it doesn't bother me. i think it's kind neat to be able to see inside.
