Have you ever been pleasently surprised when you received a new toy? Meaning it was better that you thought it would be. Or have you been disappointed and had it be horrible when you thought it would be great?
Have you ever been suprised by the toy you purchased?

I tend to do quite a bit of research on my purchases. I've had several items show up expecting it to be okay and been blown away by the sensations they provide.

Both, really. I have received toys that haven't functioned properly. That is always disappointing.

I've had it go both ways. Some very expensive toys were very disappointing while some cheap ones knocked my socks off.

I usually wait for reviews from people who have similar tastes first (they are so brave!).

I'm like KrissyNovacaine.

Oh I've definitely been pleasantly surprised.

I have been pleasantly surprised, not so much by things I've bought but by review items I've been sent.

Those Nipple Clamps with the feathers on them that Sex and Mischief sells definably surprised me. So did the Royal Ripple. The Twist was a disappointment.

let down

Surprised? Yes, both pleasantly and unpleasantly.
Notably, the SpareParts Joque, Vixskin Johnny and Fleshlight Flight all exceeded expectations significantly.
I've been majorly disappointed in a number of inexpensive bdsm pieces we bought on eBay (and a couple of expensive ones), too — but some of that stuff also was better than expected. The only thing close to disappointing from EF has been lingerie that didn't fit. But I hope we've got it pretty well figured out now.

Yes I've been pleasantly surprised and disappointed

Yep, I've had it happen both ways. Some toys that I think are going to be duds are amazing and some that I've waited for and been excited about have let me down. You can never tell until you try them.

I've been pleasantly surprised and disappointed. I received an item to review recently and didn't think I'd like it, but ended up loving it. Same goes for a toy I thought I'd love, the We-Vibe Touch. I ended up a tiny bit disappointed. Still like it, but don't love it.

have been pleasantly surprised and disappointed

I have been pleasantly surprised and disappointed as well.
03/11/2013
I've had both kinds of experiences.
03/11/2013
Yes, I have been pleasantly surprised and unfortunately disappointed with toys I have received.

We have been both pleasantly surprised as well as disappointed. But the majority of the toys are what we thought they would be from reading the fine reviews

Yes, I've been pleasantly surprised and disappointed by toys before.

Both. I do my research, but sometimes things just aren't what they seem.

Research is the best tool but we still have been surprised both good and bad with some purchases.

I love reading reviews and doing A LOT of research prior to committing to a purchase. But some things are just real specific to each individual and it's hard to know whether it will work for you.

I love the feeling of buying a toy you know you'll like and end up loving it ...or buying a toy you don't think you'll like and end up loving it too! Actually, I've only ever been pleasantly suprised

i was let down by the uma, but since then I've grown to like it.
