I did a harness poll, recently. The overwhelming majority recommended the SpareParts Joque.

joque due to reviews and getting what you pay for

i first bought a cheapo kit that included a large jelly dildo. it sucked
i then bought the spareparts bare as you dare because of excellent reviews. it was a wonderful harness, sadly it has plastic bits that might break over time.
after saving up almost 4000 points, the joque came on sale. i think i paid 11 dollars with free shipping. the joque is a fantastic harness, it does everything a harness should and even includes pouches for small vibes.
if you have the money, go for joque. if not buy the spareparts and invest in a good dildo.

I recently got the Joque and I'm loving it. It's the first quality harness I buy and it's worth every penny.

If you've never, ever used a harness and you're not sure if you'll like it - bare as you dare is cheap and not a huge loss if you dont like it. But if you're lookin to upgrade or you know you'll like it the spareparts has great reviews and is high quality with a lot of features.

I choose harnesses based on the material, the construction, and the visual appeal.
I just don't get why the Joque is so popular. Yes, it's comfy, but the look of it lacks sex appeal. The pouch will stretch out over time, giving it a limited lifespan.
And most puzzling thing of all- it's WAY overpriced! I can justify spending $100 for a high end harness made of leather and steel because those materials are expensive. But nylon and spandex? No way. It should cost around $50-$60... at the current price, it's a total ripoff.

I've never used a harness, but I'd say the SpareParts joque harness seems sturdier.
