How to clean a ball gag that can't be removed?

I recently received a ball gag that has been used & I want to sterilize without damaging the leather parts. It is a hard, black rubber ball with holes (the breathable kind). Can I just clean it with soap & water?

What's the most comfortable ball gag? The one I have right now is ok, but it's a little big for my taste.

Clean it? Yes. Sterilize it? No. Neither rubber or leather can be properly sterilized.

The leather will not be ruined by the water but you may want to put some kind of conditioner on after it has dried. Silicone or oil based lube would be a nice conditioner for the leather as both will add a water proof barrier to it.
