#AskEden - Why have all the Cyberskin products been discontinued?

Contributor: spiced spiced
Several of my favorite realistic dildos are made of Cyberskin. It's the most realistic material I've found yet and doesn't have the awful odor of UR3. The only drawback is that the material, like UR3 as well, is prone to falling apart after a few years.

I'd been planning to replace my two favorite Cyberskin dildos, the Cyber Cock and the Dream Dick, but I've recently realized ALL of the Cyberskin products formerly carried by EF seem to have been discontinued.

Does anyone know WHY?

Useful topic breakdown on Cyberskin Dildo:

Cyberskin Safety
What is Cyberskin. Is it conisdered unsafe because it is hard to sanitize?

Do you like Cyberskin?
I am curious how people feel about Cyberskin. I also would like to see if there is a difference between genders on this.

Cyberskin sex collection – vibrator kit
I would like to get this. How well does it work & is it really worth buying?

Cyberskin!!! Love it or hate it??? Let's hear your comments!!!!
Cyberskin is one of the most realistic materials on the market. It's skin like texture and beautiful hand painting makes it almost as good as the real...

Cyberskin Love it or Hate it ... POLL!!!!!!
Ok, I posed the Cyberskin Love it or Hate it question and everyone seems to love talking about it, so I figured...Let's get some #'s!!! How many of...

I think that cyberskin used to be bigger because there weren't as many realistic-feeling silicone toys. They probably weren't selling as well because people would have rather used a toy that wouldn't give them infections/last a life time, even if it wasn't QUITE as realistic feeling and was a bit more expensive. Sorry about that! If you are really curious you can always submit a support ticket.

Thanks. That's pretty plausible, but as far as I know, UR3 products have the same drawbacks, and UR3 toys are still available, with new ones being added recently.

I'm unusual, in that I like to practice oral on realistic dildos. I don't use Cyberskin/UR3 for insertion; for insertion, I'm very glad that Vixskin (etc) products exist. But I do understand the concerns.

I figured that, since I'm not expecting them to bring Cyberskin back, a support ticket wasn't really the way to go. But maybe that would be a good idea... I figured it would be quicker this way, if anyone knows why Cyberskin is out.

Usually all of us can guess and speculate....but only the staff know for sure. A ticket is usually the fastest way to go-not as entertaining or informative for some of us, though.

We restock what sells well. Cyberskin is on the decline in popularity and if the sales figures didn't support the cost and space needed to house the item, then it wasn't restocked. The product page still exists because there are reviews for the item.

Thanks, Stormy! I'm very glad to know this. I figured it was either popularity or safety and I'm glad it's popularity.

I love that EF keeps the product pages for discontinued items. It's especially helpful when trying to replace something which has been discontinued.
