Easiest to clean? Glass. Steel.
My favorite? Silicone for clitoral stimulation since it is squishy, and I like glass for cervical and g-spot stimulation and steel if I want something extremely intense. My favorite glass toy ever is Sweet Lola (amazing!) And my favorite silicone toy ever is Vitality, although I've been loving one cheaper silicone toy called Tender Twist for about 3-4 years now!
Which doesn't retain odor? Glass and steel. Silicone can retain odor, but it's less likely to retain odor than jelly, a porous material.
100% silicone, glass & steel are all non-porous materials, which means they will not harbor bacteria and are the safest options you can use. They also contain no phthalates.
