Pyrex glass, is it safe? Take a look here and find out.

LOL - Dwtim strikes again with the "in the name of science".
So cool!

I'm looking forward to part two!

Great video, thanks! I've cracked a pyrex pie dish once. I was rushing to get some cooking done. So I got the pyrex dish out from the hot oven, removed the food and immediately placed the dish into the sink, turned on the water and the dish cracked into lots of pieces. I got slashed by a flyaway shard. It was pretty messy. I am now very careful when handling pyrex items!

I know, eh? I figured that one would break, just goes to show you that price is not always everything.

I am willing to bet that more Pyrex gets broke do to temp changes than dropping.

I hope you were not hurt to bad.

Well, I did oozed some blood, but it wasn't too bad. It was my own fault, I didn't heed the warning on the bottom of the dish.

Be careful when you conduct your second test!

Do you have plans for more experiments after the temperature one? Do you need donations?

Not really, do you have some ideas? I am more than happy to conduct more tests. I have a few more toys that do not get used that could be used. Give me your ideas and we will see what is needed.

One that I have been thinking about is on how flammable TPR is. In this thread by ScottA, he states how TPR goes up like paper and was hard to put out. I just do not have a TPR toy that I am willing to give up.

Oh I will, I plan on using something that will let me drop the toy in the boiling water without being close to it.
I am trying to figure out how to protect the wife's camera right now.

What kind of a camera is it?

(Point and click digital, or SLR/DSLR, or?)

Why not use a disposable waterproof camera for that one, so as not to ruin the wife's camera?

In the name of science, I do believe I can help you. Maybe I should toss in a latex and PVC toy too for further experiments. PM me if you want.

This could launch a whole new career for you. Sex Toy Science with Tim.

She has a digital video recorder. I can use my point and shoot but there would be no sound, I am thinking the sound of the toy breaking (if it does) would play well with the test.

I think I will just rig up a pane of Lexan that I have in front of the camera, should work just fine. The only problem now is doing it without the kids wondering what I am doing. lol

Damn, does that sound like Mythbusters or what?

Great video as usual, Tim! This makes me glad that my glass toys are safely stashed away from you, though perhaps I might go through my collection and see if there is anything with which I'd be willing to let you experiment.

My husband just threw away a stroker the other day that split completely down the length of it on both sides. Perhaps he should have done a flame test (yet when I consider Scott's experience, perhaps it's good that he didn't check its flammability since we would have never expected it to flame up like toilet paper!).

LOL, yup, "Keep them away from Tim!"

That's why I do these, so everyone knows what can happen. Its like the silicone flammability test, who would have though a lube would be flammable?

If you have any ideas, feel free to post them.

Yeah, I've heard of lasagnas from the freezer exploding when put into a hot oven.

Thank you for this! I'm a very clumsy person and every time I wash my toys I'm extra careful not to drop or scratch them. I'll still be careful, but calmer. One is not Pyrex but some lesser type of glass (instruction on the box said not to boil), tough. The pouch I made for it is so tightly stuffed that you could use it as a pillow. With the giant dildo still inside.

Ha, what a great idea.

Phallix could use my video of their Pleasure Pouch, it would sell that product for sure.

Sounds like sweet dreams, eh? lol

Ya, I still recommend folk be careful, I am just hoping that it help ease the fear of them breaking during normal use.

Feel free to use it, I could even send it to you. The same question pops up on the forum very month or so, kind of why I did it.
