Okay...now that all my JELLIES are purged, is that OTHER "unsafe" materials, such as in "adult play" lubes, candy or whatever, to avoid???

Contributor: Bignuf Bignuf
I want our sex play to be HEALTHY, not just happy. I purged my closets of hundreds of my old Jellies and now want to clean out the rest of any "unhealthy" bed mates. SO...any lubes, sex candy (they have all kinds of mints, tooth covers, pop rocks...etc, for sex) or anything else folks at EF here can warn me about???

THANKS for the education.

Anything that has parabens or glycerin in it is what I would toss next. Sugar and the vag are notorious enemies.

That's what I was going to say. Also, flavored lubes with sugar, fruit extract, sucrose, honey, and other forms of sugar.

Sugars are always my main concern as well. Not only are they bad for the "lady bits", but they aren't that great to be ingested either! They do make sugar free options, but if you are sensitive to the artificial sweeteners, you may want to avoid those too...

I'd say sugar is the big thing you want to look out for in lubes (or anything else going near your naughty bits) - yeast thrives on it, so the chances of infection are high. Next come glycerin and parabens. Some people are fine with them, but other people are allergic or sensitive. If optimal health is what you're aiming for, then look for glycerin- and paraben-free lubes. Sliquid makes some nice ones.
