How can I pick just one. I LOVE glass and metal, but still need basic movable toys and I will only buy silicone. I don't do anything that is porous unless it is for a review.

I don't know

I went with the obvious silicone, metal and glass - we just love these toys. I added silicone composites because we have the O2 and a couple of Crystal-Cote dildos that are very nice.

Acrylic is also good - it's just that when glass cam along - the acrylic lost it's niche. I'm sure ceramic would be great we just have so many good metal and glass ones that last forever - we haven't had a need/desire to invest in ceramic. If I were starting from scratch - I'm sure I'd buy one or two to try out.

For rigid, my favorite is metal, hands down, but that comes at a price. The metal is awesome because of the look, the feel, the maintenance (or lack thereof) are all top notch.
For softer toys, my favorite is silicone. The non-porous nature makes it worth the little bit extra cost it represents.
I guess maybe I should have marked skin-like as well for the really soft stuff (like masturbation sleeves) because they just feel awesome.

Well I have not tried the majority of these yet; my first silicone toy is on the way. It appears to be a popular material so I hope I will like it ! But out of the materials I have tried so far I like the TPR Silicone. It is somewhat more realistic feeling to me, without being porous. I also liked the velvet cote toy that I got recently.

Congrats on choosing the Ella - we have one very similar made by Soju - called Sugar link. My wife loves it a lot.

If you like this shape there is a piece called the Alumina Flow link that has a similar feel - but adds the option of temperature play.

Since it was "favorite" I confined myself to one. If I could have only one material it would be silicone - stiff enough to feel good, soft enough to be versatile, easy-care and 100% safe.
04/26/2010
One material - definitely metal. But I really like silicone, wood, and glass as well.

I absolutely LOVE plastic toys, especially hard plastic. I have two temptress vibrators because the hard plastic casing is perfect for not giving and helps me to get off better

My choices are silicone and metal. They're non-porous, easy to clean, and will last forever.
04/27/2010
Silicone for us because it's safe and easy to take care of.

I haven't tried enough of these to vote . I don't like jelly though, or other not-so-safe materials, I love 100% silicone, and the idea of glass, wood and ceramic are all really intriguing.
Velvet cote is also very nice.

My "other" is stone.
Let me clarify every material.
Glass, stone, and metal: all for anal toys. They're wonderful, I love them. Wood, realistic (either UR3 or Vixskin), or silicone: all for vaginal use on partners, but can also be used anally. Ceramic is a tough choice, but that is good vaginally or anally.

Silicone, but the harder solid kind that doesn't collect hair like its life depended on it.
I love glass as well for the temp properties but it isn't my go to every time.
TPE is great also. I learned to love it while reviewing the Better Than Chocolate.

I definitely recommend stone, but I will say that it's not much different from glass. It is, however, a lot heftier. So if you like the texture of glass, but the weight of metal, try stone.

Glass, glass, glass, glass! Every glass wand/dildo I have is absolutely, amazingly gorgeous in its own way. I just love the feeling of the cold tip nestling against my cervix, and the ridges and bumps sliding along the walls of my inner sanctum. I'm drooling now just thinking about them.
I do, of course, enjoy silicone for its safety. I have yet to try metal (due to the budget [or lack thereof] of a full time university student...) but I hope to some day!

I really love glass and metal toys. I enjoy hard toys vs the "lifelike" ones. At some point I'll have to try stone or wood, just to see what I think!

Silicone, glass, and ceramic = Hygienic, lovely, pure.
05/22/2010
I'm gonna go with plastic - I love that there are so many variations, that it can be smooth and hard, have a satin finish, or even be squishy and jelly-like. All compatible with silicone lube!
07/20/2010
If I could only choose one, it would have to be 100% silicone, because it's so versatile. I can be soft or hard, smooth or textured, spongy or firm, etc...
But since we were allowed to choose more than one in the poll, I chose 100% silicone, glass, and metal. They all are phenomenal in their own right, yet all of them are still non-porous, hygienic, able to be sterilized, and will last a lifetime.

I love silicone, followed by metal. And darn i forgot to select it as well, ah well, lol.
07/20/2010
My favorites are silicone for softer/flexible toys and glass for rigid toys. I will most likely love metal too, but I haven't tried any yet!
07/20/2010
Silicone and plastic by far. Silicone feels luxurious while the plastic works great for pressure.

Agreed, but because it allowed me to pick more than one I did. I love all of the more "natural" materials... wood, glass, metal, etc. I like the different feeling of each. If I could only pick one it would be silicone for the same reasons you said.

I like plastic, because it cleans off very quickly. Silicone is non porous, but I've never needed it to be, and its a lot more expensive.
07/21/2010
I prefer glass because it lasts a long time, it's beautiful, it cleans easily, and it is hypo allergenic!
07/28/2010
I generally prefer all-silicone toys, but I do have a few glass toys that I really love. I'm a bit of a germophobe, so I only buy toys in materials that can be sanitized.
07/28/2010
Glass because of its firmness
