Is there any way to determine whether a toy is jelly or TPR?

Obviously, I'm wondering, is there any way to tell for sure whether or not a toy is actually TPR or jelly? With silicone, you can do the flame test to know for sure, but is there any way of being sure when it comes to TPR?

The thing is, I have a toy that I'm almost certain is jelly, but the packaging says TPR. It's not a toy from Eden though. It's Dream Toys which I've never used before.

Any suggestions? It smells horrible. It's actually the worst smelling toy I have ever had. It smells chemical-ish like jelly, but has an intense sweaty feet odor too. It's a rabbit vibe and has some serious oozing of oily stuff, even after washing. It doesn't feel, look or smell like TPR.

So what would you guys think? Possibly the package says TPR when it's really jelly?

Have you ever had a situation like this?

Thanks

As far as I know, TPR should never have an odor like that, or ooze. It's probably jelly, and the stuff it's oozing is pthalates.

Thank you! That is exactly what I suspected, but wasn't 100% sure. Ugh! That is so annoying though, that they say it's something when it isn't.

I haven't ever had TPR that oozed or smelled either so I figured it could be jelly instead. Yuck.

Thanks so much for the help!

I'm pretty sure I'm right, but you might want to ask Elnoa or someone else with greater chemical knowledge than myself, just to be sure.
