Denatured alcohol is quite common and cheap where I live. I wonder if it would be safe for cleaning silicone toys (provided you rinse them after) instead of isopropyl alcohol.
Denetured alcohol for sanitizing silicone toys?

I don't use alcohol to wipe my toys down. I use the EF toy wipes that are free with purchase to clean all of my toys.

I don't generally use it for my toys, but hydrogen peroxide works wonders on my Moon Cup which is silicone. It's important to keep that thing really clean because it's easy to get BV since it's in there so long.
The hydrogen peroxide hasn't harmed it. (It actually makes it look all nice and bright.) I don't see why it wouldn't be safe for other toys. It's also very cheap.

Wiki says denatured alcohol is ethanol with other chemicals added to make it poisonous and hence undrinkable. Isopropyl alcohol is also a denatured alcohol, just a different blend. For cleaning purposes, I think either would have about the same effectiveness. Silicone is pretty inert; I don't think it is affected by alcohols. I've used 92% isopropyl to disinfect toys after washing with antibacterial soap (because I'm a germaphobe), but you may want to research the other chemicals before feeling comfortable.

I have used this a few times and it has not hurt my silicones. but I also use it on my cheaper silicone toys, not my more expensive ones, though.

Likewise - I have used alcohol many times to clean all material of toys including silicone. Alcohol is a great disinfectant.

Your assumption is correct. Silicone will not be affected by alcohols, isopropyl or otherwise.
