Other discussions and polls have been made concerning buying a vibrator for their daughters. A few stated they would if they had a daughter, but all they have is boys. So, would you buy a Fleshlight or other masturbator for you son?

Would you buy your son a masturbator (Fleshlight, etc)?

I mentioned this on one of the "vibes for daughters" threads, but I would get a toy for my son if I had one and he was interested. I don't plan on having kids, though, so it's kind of a moot point.

I have a son who is about to be 13. If I had too do it so he keeps from getting with one of these fast girls then I may. I know my cousin's 9 yr old son just had sex with a girl older then him and him and his brother are running around talking about he became a man. I would have a heart attack if my son came to me saying this or I found out.

No.
This is different from discreetly providing your kid with a vibrator/dildo. If he or she is experimenting with penetration, he or she needs something to insert and I would rather they have something safe to use rather than potentially dangerous household items.
But if a boy wants to experiment with penetrating, all he needs is lotion and his own fist. A fleshlight isn't required. I would only consider it if I had a son who was exploring sticking it in potentially dangerous places.

Hypothetically:
I don't think I'd buy my son a masturbator. I'd buy my daughter one because the female orgasm, female pleasure in general really, is so difficult to achieve and so frowned upon by society. Boys masturbating is considered a fact of life, while girls doing the same is considered dirty, wrong, or otherwise immoral.
My son,min addition, will likely not be confused by his anatomy, nor have difficulty achieving orgasm. If I could be the one to unlock the door to that pleasure for my daughter, that would be lovely. But I don't see my son needing guidance.

As with many of my answers to polls, the answer is: it depends. I have no children, so this is a purely hypothetical question for me. I feel like if we had an honest and frank relationship and he had the money and just needed me to go "make the buy" because he was 17 not 18, I'd definitely consider it. As we know, solo sex is the safest kind. I would want to be sure that he had already educated himself about the pros & cons of the toy, how to use it, how to properly care for it, etc, and if he hadn't, I'd probably require him to.
At 12 or 13, I'd likely hand him a tube of decent lube, and the advice that he was apt to end up slipping and breaking his neck in the shower if he tried it in there and suggesting that he go in his room and explore one of the more fun reasons that we are born with hands...and that it might be time for him to start doing his own laundry.
I don't think I'd just go out and buy one and leave it on his bed or anything...

I doubt a fleshlight will help dissuade a boy that age from jumping on the opportunity to have sex if it was presented. If it could, masturbation would have the same effect. A fleshlight might be able to replicate the sensations, but it can't replicate the emotional experience and/or the social rewards (others thinking he's "become a man").

I did not say it was my son. I said it was my cousin's son. I am not ready for my son to experience anything period until he is old enough. I said I am on the fence about this. I probably would not buy him one either. But I be on his ass to where he is not out and going to involve him self in any situation like my cousin's son.

Maybe, if he came to me about sex. I mean it's better than just sleeping with random girls. But I wouldn't just buy one when he reached 'that age'. I don't have any kids yet though so I'm not sure.

I don't have kids, but if I did I would not buy them one.

Not me personally, but when I know my son is masturbating, I will make my husband pick one out for him...
Like I said when you asked about daughters.. I would rather them masturbate than come home with an STD or a pregnant girlfriend.
I also think part of my husbands birds and bees talk will include a LENGTHY part about mutual masturbation.
Teens are going to have sex.
The best we can do is give them all the facts and tools to keep themselves safe!

I think I'd have been horrified if as a teen one of my parents had bought me a sex toy. Kids don't want to know that their parents are aware that they masturbate, let alone use something which is a constant reminder of this.

I'm not entirely sure if I would or not but it's a possibility.

"Teens are going to have sex.

I don't know about a Fleshlight, unless there was a reason to give them an alternative (like a person you'd rather not have them hang around with).

I certainly would. Fleshlights can't get pregnant, and they won't give him an STD.

I think I'd rather give him cash to get his own if it came down to it.

I have already said I would purchase my daughter a sex toy, so my son would be no different. I would have too teach him about cleaning them properly and everything because most male toys are made of porous materials.
That would be me who made a comment about only having boys!

Yes because they are going to explore ant they are going to discover this stuff themselves and id rather have them not feel like it is wrong or gross.

Sure, why not. I masturbated a lot during highschool. It would have been easier if I had masturbator.

Yes I would. I know when I was a teenage virgin I was worried about premature ejaculation, and just being clueless overall. Now a fleshlight may or may not help them with the stamina issue, but it might provide a less taboo aspect to sexual exploration and also relieve some frustration. I would also rather have a son getting a little extra exercise than just sitting on the couch vegging out.

As a parent I know it is my job to provide information, and we do it even though it is awkward. Buying a toy is way beyond providing info and into the territory of participation. This is a gray area to me. I wouldn't say you are wrong if you choose to do this but I feel this should be private. Guys do you seriously want to use a toy your mother bought you?

I would buy any of my kids (if I had them) a sex toy IF they were interested. I think it would be highly hypocritical of me to have them but say it's not OK for my kids to use them.
04/07/2012
I don't have kids, and never will, so I can't really say either way. I have a feeling it would be too awkward, though.
04/07/2012
If I had kids- a son, I probably would not. First off I don't think any boy would want a masturbator from their mom. That’s just awkward. Depends on maturity level too and all that, maybe if they had a good relationship with their father haha. I don't think either of us would randomly buy a sex toy for our kids anyway- if they asked, then maybe.
04/07/2012
not sure, i think i would have to be a dad to really say for sure.
04/09/2012
I would for sure, might be awkward at first.. But it's better than him going out and sticking it in some of the girls around in this day and age.

funny..my son asked me acouple months ago if I would and hes 14 (was 13 when asked). he is very open with me and asked me by saying his friend was gona ask his mom and asked if I was the mom if I would accept it..I told him its better than him doing the real thing and atleast its safer..then he said it was him that wanted it..that changed my mind.Im happy hes open with me but at his age I just dont feel right buying him one.

Only if he loses his virginity by 14.
04/10/2012
I would never by my teenage son a masturbator! I'm pretty sure he spanks the monkey enough the way it is and is reaching expert or possibly allstar status at it... the last thing he needs is a better feel good way than his hand..lmao
