What's better for anal play: water or silicone-based lube?

I'm a big fan of the silicone-based Sliquid Silver -- it's the only lubricant I use, in fact. But I'm curious how silicone compares to water-based lubes for anal play. Specifically, I'm shopping for anal toys and would like to upgrade to a high quality silicone toy, but not if it means compromising lube quality.

The Silver is silky smooth and a little goes a long way, whereas my experience with water-based lube in general is that it gets gummy or sticky after a few minutes and you have to reapply frequently. Is that the case with Sliquid H20? And how does it compete with silicone lube for anal play?

silicone last a lot longer during anal play, meaning no drag half way into your play. But it does not work well with silicone toys. You could use condoms with your toys to keep the silicone lube off of them, just a thought.

I enjoy silicone, but I have so many silicone toys that I can rarely use it.

I use the Sliquid Booty one for vaginal intercourse and with toys. I enjoy it a lot personally. It doesn't have the desensitizers in it that others do. But if you like this company, I would try their anal one first. Then try a good silicone brand if it doesn't work well or not what you like.

Maximus is an awesome lube that is probably one of the thickest water based lubes around.

If you really want a silicone feeling lube you can use with silicone toys, I'm currently LOVING Wet's Synergy line. Its a water/silicone hybrid thats safe to use with silicone toys. Comes in standard, cooling, and warming. I personnally love the warming.

Silicone really works well for anal, it is more slippery and doesn't absorb into the skin. That said, it is hell to get off of your skin, sheets, clothes, etc when you are done. It takes forever to get clean.

Water if youre using it with a silicone toy so it doesnt deteriorate the material.

Thank you ill for sure look into that, sometimes I find lubes that are too warming they're uncomfortable
