it does have a burning sensation. It all depends on how much you use. You reall are not supposed to use it as a lube. its more of a stimulator. Its due to the menthol?peperment in the product.

I think it depends on the sensitivity of the person, but I personally hate cooling lubes, so I don't want to find out.
