Hi all,

This is mostly directed at vagina and vulva-having people but anyone can give input. I like things multipurpose so what's a good lube for applying daily for vaginal dryness (due to age, hormones, medications, or just them kind of days)?

I've tried silicone based but found those gave a real weird rubbery texture to lips and vag-- though that was in the '90s and I'm sure they've improved. I have a stronger preference for water-based because some toys I have are silicone and I don't want silicone-based. I don't have issues with glycerine causing itches or yeast infections.

Absolutely no oil-based, flavored or highly-fragranced please.

The stuff my wife likes are vegetable butter based products that include some combination of vitamin E, cocoa, shea & avocado butters. Some people call them oil-based - but they are not petroleum or animal oil-based. They are vegan.

I tried those little KY suppository things and they gave me a yeast infection, or something similar to one. Supposedly they provide 12 or 24 hours lubrication. Hmm..questionnable if you ask me.

Thanks! I was using grapeseed oil, which is very light and I use it to remove makeup, but I'm concerned about damage to toy material. Plant-based oils can break down latex and other stuff. Cocoa butter? Wow, I can't stand the stuff, to me it smells like cat poop. Shea butter is nice, I use it in my hair sometimes.

I'll have to give these a check, thanks! I saw these in a drug store which had me going huh? I usually don't look at the "family planning" aisle unless I have a partner and I was surprised to find jars of jackoff lube right next door to the tampons-- and I currently live in an area of extraconservative rural towns!

Ewwww, K-Y. The only time it ever came near me is during gynecological exams and that stuff is messynasty and makes my thighs itch. And I remember when K-Y was all there was a person could buy!
