I have never been able to find a good water-based lube. The main reason I hate water-based lubricants is because I've found many of them irritate my girly parts. I'm sure we're all aware of the harmful materials found in sex toys, but lubricants can contain harmful substances too.
Let's take a look at some of the sketchy ingredients found in some of our most beloved lubes:
Parabens- An antimicrobial preservative known to have hormone-disrupting effects, and cause allergic reactions.
Glycerin- Used to keep your lube nice and slick without getting sticky, but is also known to cause yeast infections.
Propylene Glycol – A cosmetic form of mineral oil used in lubricants to retain moisture. It can cause skin irritation, or even (albeit rare) kidney damage in more severe cases.
I would really like to see Eden Fantasys carry more organic lubes that don't contain harmful ingredients.

Dodgy ingredients aside, I don't just want some hippie lube that ain't worth a damn either. I want safety and effectiveness. So take a look at some of the most popular water-based lubricants on the EF site, and weigh the pros and cons for yourself.

Is it comparative to natural lubrication or does it have a synthetic slickness?

The only one of these I have used is Maximus. I would say that it is more of a synthetic slickness but I enjoy it very much regardless.

I've heard some good things from that Maximus lube. Hmm wow i never knew it had this stuff in it. I might reconsider my choice in lube now.

Maximus is definitely sticky. O'My isn't sticky but it's not thin, either. Haven't tried the others...

Maximus is thicker, but Pink water feels more natural, Oh My is a little more runny than the Pink Water. It is not completely thin, but of the three Pink Water is in the middle.

Maximus had a wonderful consistency and thickness.
Maximus burned the heck out of me vaginally, and my boyfriend masturbation wise. Must be the parabens or something. O'My is a no-no with us because it has vegetable glycerin. Liquid Silk was just awful smelling, and I haven't tried the others.
The only ones I haven't had a reaction to yet that aren't on the list are Sliquid H2O, Sliquid Sassy, and the Slippery Stuff line, which EF doesn't carry.

A little off topic, but your description of proplyene glycol is not correct. It is not a cosmetic form of mineral oil - it's actually an alcohol and is completely water soluble. The reason it's on the "bad" list is because it can be an irritant to some. It is actually FDA approved as food safe, and its a nice moisturizer.
And it broke my heart in a thousand tiny little pieces when I found out liquid silk has parabens in in

Broke mine too. Except for the detail of unbearable burning sensations to someone like me who is sensitive to parabens, it's a glorious lube.

I'm a Sliquid H2O girl myself. We might try the Sliquid organics or Pink Water next, but we've got an 8.5 oz bottle to work our way through first. It's not the most long-lasting or really thick, but it works well for us otherwise, without irritating my poor lady bits.

I just use Maximus for everything, yes it is a little thicker but I don't find it messy overall. Looking for a natural type lube now. I had a link but can't find it @ present.

I've heard of a new product called DEFENSE PROTECTION LUBRICANT, which is 100% vegan friendly. I haven't had a chance to use any, but I did get some, and will let you know how it goes!

Doc Johnson's "Anal Lube" is always my go to lube for everything. Has never been irritating to me or my partners, is inexpensive, and also nearly tasteless. Great for vaginal/anal sex and masturbation.

I love Pink Water the best. It's fragrant free, non-sticky, and very moisturizing. And the price is great!!

I prefer Sliquid organics Gel.

Out of those i have only used Sliquid, which was nice, and Liquid Silk (not my fave) but i would still try out the others on the list.

Of those I prefer Maximus, but if you're really sensitive you may want to try Babelube - nice and thick like Maximus is, but paraben-free.

Pink water is good, and sliquid brand. This is hard to pick one.

I prefer the sliquid brand

I like Pink water and Liquid Silk

Sliquid Organics (Gel or Liquid) is my favorite lube. It never irritates, and it is actually quite moisturizing. This might sound strange, but I once had an ingrown hair that I couldn't get rid of, and I spent a week just rubbing in the excess Sliquid, and it loosened it right up! So now I use copious amounts and just rub in the extra. Strange, but true.

I went sliquid once, and I never went back.

Maximus. Liquid silk is good too
