What do you do with your unwanted panties?

Contributor: oohlookasquirrel oohlookasquirrel
I'm 26, and I realized that I have never gotten rid of a single pair of panties since I was 14. I've grown since then, as we tend to do, and I have a big box of old WASHED panties that don't fit or are too worn. Some of them were worn once or not at all, if I bought them and then realized they didn't fit but wasn't willing to go back to the store and try to return a single thong. I hesitate to toss them because I know there are guys out there who would love to get their hands on some cute panties that have been worn by a hot girl at some point. Frankly, I could use the money, and I hate throwing things in the garbage when someone else out there might want them. Especially cute, hardly worn panties!
I'd love to hear your experiences on the subject.

I reuse them as rags before tossing them.

I have a bag of panties that don't fit or are too old sitting around the house somewhere, collecting dust, because I haven't gotten around to dealing with them yet.

I have given clean or lightly worn panties to a partner for his/her enjoyment when I'm not around.

I have given/sold my clean or worn panties to a stranger.

I voted toss them out. But you should join a camsite and sell them to men who would pay for it, LOL!

It depends. Most of them sit in the bottom of my drawer and once in awhile, I go through and toss them. However, if the panties are worn or tearing, they go in the garbage. If they were panties I just bought that didn't fit, I have no shame in returning them to the place I bought them. (Although, if the panties are open, the package of panties does have to be tossed - it can't go back out on the shelves.)

Mine never get worn only once - I wear them til the elastic goes (which is before the cloth). Can't imagine not using what I buy, it seems wasteful.

My wife gives me her old panties for rags, nothing like using panties when you hands are greasy. If they are in good shape I have made some "toy" bags out of them also.

I rarely wear panties anymore, but when I did, I wore them till they fell apart cause I'm a miser. Probably I could make some money selling them. Who can't, you know? But I'd be embarrassed selling panties that barely have any material left. Lol.

We have this terrible habit of never throwing away old clothes in my house, so unwanted, worn panties migrate into the role of being rags. I actually prefer using them to clean my glasses, oddly enough. Cotton panties are just softer than most shirts, I guess * shrug *

Sometimes I buy panties online and the size is not quite right. Usually the panties are part of a larger order, and I would end up having to spend money on return shipping for just a little pair of panties, so I end up just keeping them if I'm busy.

Also, sometimes I try on a pair of panties and they seem great, but after wearing them for a day I swear to myself that I am NEVER WEARING THESE PANTIES AGAIN!

I do consider it wasteful and I try to learn from my mistakes, but it doesn't change the fact that I've got a few pairs I've hardly worn.

Once they either get baggy or rip, I keep them around for a while. For "Second Day Period Wear" or if I forget to do laundry. Eventually, they get so saggy and the elastic starts to stretch and even turn to dust (it's been a LONG TIME since I was 16) I eventually throw them away.

I've never returned a pair. There was a story on the news where stores, even high end stores like Nordtroms and Victoria's Secret would put returned panties UNWASHED back on the racks, with new tags on them. EW!

Laundry day today. I have on a pair of Hanes boy shorts, which ended up being too small when I bought them, with a torn waist band so they will fit my Zaftig hips. SEXY!

True, I'm not able to buy 'excess' or 'cute' styles (just the way I am), so I never had that problem. I know we took in hardly used underwear at the thrift store that we washed again to make sure they were sterile and then resold. It's another option to consider.

I have an addiction to panties. I buy lots of them, especially if they're on sale when I am shopping. I might only have 3 pairs of jeans that fit me, but I've got a giant drawer of panties. :p

I save the worn out/discolored/stained ones for my 'period panties' and try to save the cute ones for every other part of the month. If they're absolutely gone, like they've got holes in them, then they go in the garbage.

I'm a panty hoarder but hardly ever wear them. I have all these cute ones from Victoria's Secret and whatnot that just collect in my drawer. I usually wear the old cotton Hanes or Fruit of the Looms because they actually cover my ass and are comfy. I have older ones that are cute and I hold onto because I could wear them when I was thinner. I guess old hopes that I'll lose weight make me keep them, lol. But when they get holey or start to disintegrate, to the trash they go!

I usually wear mine until they're starting to fall apart or the elastic is wearing out and then I just toss them because they're nasty. I have some I rarely wear but I keep them for those times that I haven't done laundry in a while.

I know there are sites that you can sell used panties though, especially if you're willing to take a picture of you wearing them and then send them off. I'm not sure the details because I've never done it, but I know that sites like that do exist and I hear you can make decent money off it.

Any that are worn a lot that start to fall apart or get holes or don't fit, I will throw them away. After washing them. I feel weird about throwing them away dirty. I don't know. OCD I guess. But if they are almost new like and not falling apart, they just don't fit or I don't like them, I will try to give to my sisters or mom. I even tried to sell some almost new ones at a yard sale. Haha. But if no one wants them, I keep them in their own special place until I find someone that does want them, or until I decide I like them or will fit into them.

I generally just hoard mine, so i voted for having a bag of panties collecting dust. But being that I am involved in the fetish community as a model, it has crossed my mind to sell them, though I haven't gotten around to it just yet. I have, however looked into it and the most popular website to do so is Ebanned. It is much like E-bay, but for adult items. Girls (and guys) can sell anything from worn panties and bras to their worn sneakers, socks.. or as odd as it may sound, their spit, used tissues, or ped-egg shavings (EW!!) Trust me, there is a fetish out there for EVERYTHING! If any of you are interested in selling your used panties, check Ebanned out. You have to sign up, and the listings do require some time if you want to actually sell your items, and like Alicia said you are much more likely to sell the items, and make more money, if you post a picture or two of yourself wearing them.

My grandmother would save her ratty panties for vacation. When she would wear them, she would then throw them away. There was less to carry home, no underwear laundry to take home (she didn't wear bras, she wore "chemises" or wife beater undershirts) and they left room in her luggage for things to buy!

I think this is a wonderful thing to do with old panties.

My grandmother was a fantastic woman.

Once they get holes or stretched I toss them, but I have given some nice ones that don't fit right to a friend. She has no problems using them!

I throw my old panties away. I'm a HUGE germaphobe and, well, I would NOT want to wear used panties so I'd never do anything other than throw them away.

Just...ew. I get squicked out when I see panties at Goodwill and other thrift stores.

I just toss them. Half the time they get holes in them anyway, or they break apart somehow....

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately, panties that fit me when I was 14 aren't going to look so hot on me today, but I'm definitely going to scope it out. Even if I sold a bunch of them for cheap, it would be better than just tossing them!

Any time.. I'm definitely thinking about posting some auctions myself. Hell, if we can make money off of it, why not?

This. Is. Awesome.
I don't know why I've never thought of that before, but its a perfect rag/cloth towel idea. I also think the boy would be receptive to that. Ta!!

Ya know, this is also a very very good idea. This thread is full of them!
I think I'd just worry what the cleaning lady thought was happening that there are panties in the bin ever time she comes to clean. :\ I think I'll wrap/tape them up or tear them to unrecognizable shreds first, for her (and my) peace of mind. *paranoid*

I have a little secret--I have saved most on my panties from all the way back to late in high school. Of course they are all very clean, some are kind of taken apart. I plan on doing something crafty with them, but what my plan is is still even more of a secret. I think they are a neat bit of fashion history. It seems I had great luck finding interesting thongs in the early 2000s.

I have thought of selling some to guys with...special interests...when I have needed money, but I just can't do it.

I cannot and will not wear panties that have belonged to someone else... so to me I say throw them out. I understand that you wanna maybe make a few bucks back, but I don't dunno.. ew.

Same for me. I don't thrown them out frequently, not to say I keep them for decades, it's just that they hold up when washed so they last me pretty long. Once they're unusable, I'll throw them because I know no one goes through my trash.
