I am a 42c and I find Underwire bras very uncomfortable. I wonder if its just me, or if it's size related. When shopping for bras it's hard to find nice wireless ones and almost all of the sexier ones are underwire.

Underwire or Not to Underwire that is the question!

Bras with no underwire don't do anything for me. But I'm a 34J, so that might have something to do with it. I very rarely see bras without underwire in my size anyway.

There isn't a large choice of "nice" bras in my size that aren't underwire. I wish I could wear an underwire for more than an hour or so.

I prefer underwire bras underneath my daily clothes, but definitely no wires when it comes to lingerie sleepwear.

I use both. I have a C cup but my boobs are (for the time being) still perky. So sometimes I wear a very comfortable wireless sports bra that I bought at a department store. If it's a special outfit then it depends on the cut, whether it has a built in bra, etc.

Underwire!

I hate the feel of underwire, too. I'm a 40DD and you can't find that size without them (and padded molding for some reason - do I really need to look like an F-cup?). The problem with most underwires is that the designer is under the impression that the breast does not extend under the arm, and so the wires end up digging into the skin.
I'm tempted to look into granny bras now (fortunately, there are retro-undie sites with nicer materials) because this wire-crap is hurting me more than it's helping my breasts "look right for everyone else's aesthetic sense".

I feel unsupported without underwire.

I prefer without because I hate the wires digging into my underarms. I had D cups so I have a hard time finding them without. I do have one sports bra but I cant wear it with most of my shirts.

I've gotta have some underwire support!!!

I must have under wire for support

Underwire is a MUST for me

As a 36D I have to have an underwire to get any sort of normal shape. I do like unpadded vs padded

38D, and I hate underwire! I pay a lot for well-built wireless bras.

34D/32DD, and I like underwire. It's not the most comfortable, but I prefer the way my boobs look in an underwire bra/lingerie.

I find underwires to be more supportive and more comfortable. I wonder if you should get measured and confirm you are wearing the correct size. When I was wearing the wrong size I found underwire bras to be much less comfortable.

I like both.

I prefer underwire, padded/push up bra's.

Unless it's a sports bra, my wife has to have an underwire.

I can do without underwire as I am pretty flat, but it still feels good to have support for what little that I have.

I'm a 32D and underwires are soooo uncomfortable after a while. Unfortunately, wireless bras are hard to find, especially in my size

Underwire

I've always been told that if an underwire bra is uncomfortable, then it is probably the wrong size. I wear both types of bras, depending on my mood that day, but I generally prefer underwires.

I'm a 38D, and I need underwire to feel comfortable. I usually don't want to go an entire day in one, just my working/waking hours. I don't sleep in bras.

If your cups aren't extending far enough under your arms to contain the breast tissue there, they are definitely too small. And the underwire should be sitting flat against your body *including and especially between your breasts*.
If your band creeps up your back, your band is probably too large. The band is supposed to offer the primary support, much more than the cups or straps.
I don't wear the same size in every brand and/or style and some styles don't fit my body/breast shape regardless of size I try on but I got lucky and found some Soma bras that fit me well and are so much more comfortable than the bras I've worn in the past.
Added bonus: correct fit can make you look 5-10 pounds lighter. Several people asked if I'd lost weight.

I prefer with underwire for my nicer bras but for everyday sometimes wireless is more comfy

I'm a 34D and underwires don't bother me.
