Personally I would say NO I have many Military Wives as friends an they would never be caught in something like that unless they wanted to be the talk of the party. Too each their own though, if you feel comfortable wearing it then go for it but most parties like that have a dress code. Not sure what branch you are apart of but I would check an see what dress code is.

If his NCO's are cool.. maybe. depends on how short it is on you. also i would not unzip the shoulders. there is no reason to draw to much attention. some NCO's will thinking nothing of it. Others may be ofended and latter give your partner heck about it.

i would definatly ask the soilder his opion. he knows them better than anyone..

yep, my daughters is formal.. dress greens.. use to be blues but they changed them. i don't care for the new class A's
