So many women are wearing the wrong bra size, and it truly breaks my heart because I know just how excellent a properly fitting bra can be. Don't count any times that you've been sized somewhere like LaSenza or Victoria's Secret, because they are notorious for fitting only within the span of their collection (they frequently still try to tell me that my 30HHs would "probably work" with a 36DD if I ever make the mistake of catching the eye a salesperson). I'm talking a professional fitter, someone who creates custom pieces or someone who owns an independent store that carries a variety of sizes.
Ladies, when's the last time that you were properly fitted for a bra?

I've never been measured by anyone but myself, mostly because I feel like it wouldn't make a difference. Even if I had an official size, proportionally speaking, they simply don't make large measurement bras with small cup sizes. OR small bras with big cups, from what I've been told by friends.
I always wind up buying a 42C/D and after eyeballing it, taking some scissors and a sewing machine to the cups till they're about an A or a B.

I've only been measured by VS but the measurements they give me work really well for me. They fit perfectly so who am I to argue?

One time I did actually get a knowledgeable salesperson at Victoria's Secret (rare, I know). It was after I lost a lot of weight, and none of my bras fit me anymore. I went from a 34D/DD to a 32DDD! I bought the only two bras in the entire store in that size. Guess I'll be heading online for future purchases (this size is impossible to find in stores).

last time was after I had my baby - long time ago

"No" what? I'm aware that I'm coming off a little bit harshly and that there are loads of women who do fit within a 32-40 A-DD commercial range, and I don't have a problem with people wearing whatever bras work for them, I just don't consider that to be a real fitting.

never, but i'm fairly small

Aside from VS, I've been fitted by someone who owns an independent store...and all of the ones that she pulled were way too big for me (like empty space/hole-hilariously -big). So nope, I don't think I've been properly fitted before.

Having a large chest i have to get fitted each time i get a new bra. However, i've never gone to an independent store, i usually go to Dillards since they carry large sizes as well as large cup sizes.

I've been fitted a long time ago, maybe 4 or 5 years.
02/20/2013
its been over a year

Sometimes the boutique owners are just as awful as anyone out there. It blows my mind that someone can have a store in a niche market without being passionate enough or learned enough about their niche to do it properly.

It's been too long!

I am a 32 HH and the only place with big enough bras to fit me is like 3 hours away I have to order my bras online

I've always gotten the same measurements/bra size, whether it be by VS, dept stores, or at home using all the different bra size formulas I can find. I also did get measured a few months ago for my wedding dress/undergarments by a tailor and they got the same size too.
Actually finding my size in stores is another story. That and finding a brand that is actually accurate in their sizes and doesn't run big or too small.
Luckily VS has started making some larger cup sizes available in some of their bigger stores, otherwise I have to buy online.

I was only ever fitted by my mom before the first time she bought me training bras. I've just sort of assumed I've grown slightly since then and bought slightly bigger bras, even though a professional would probably still put me in training bras... Sigh...

Only at VS.

I got sized at Additionelle twice and once was by my best friend who worked there at one point, and another time was at one of there Bra clinics. They both told me the same thing I'm an F38. Good luck trying to find one lol. but they stated selling G's and H's which is great because since I'm breast feeding at the time I'm a G.

I've only been fitted commercially.

Where do you order from? I have some great suggestions if you're not happy with where you're currently shopping! =)

I got so excited when we got an Additionelle in my little town because I thought I'd finally be able to find a bra that fit for a reasonable price. Then I realized that they don't even come close to carrying my band size haha. I don't know what I was thinking.

It is been a year it was right before I joined the site.

There is no place around me that isn't Victoria's Secret or some place like that. I don't know where to go to get that done.
02/20/2013
I've never been fitted, but I don't want to pay for such a thing.

Probably 3 years ago
