Do you have a hard time finding a bra that fits?

Contributor: mdnght mdnght
I can NEVER find a bra that fits me properly, no matter how hard I look, and I always end up having to get something that doesn't fit quite right.

Does anyone else have a lot of trouble finding the right bra?

I have an average bra size, but it's hard to find a good priced one that I like the fit of. I like the kind that hold em up, and just cover the nipples. Either they dig in to me near the pits, my books fall out, they don't hold up well, or they just make my boobs look funny. I ended up just getting a $63 bra and panty set from victoria secrets with my tax return and it's what I usually wear. I have spares to wear when I need to do laundry. Haha.

Yes, I can only find bras in my size online. Getting locally is expensive, so I usually order from overseas.

I'm technically a 34DD. Hardly anyone stocks that size. I buy 36D (if you go up in band size and down in cup size it fits almost the same). They don't fit perfectly. I've just learned to deal with it.

I'm practically flat chested so the ones at the local stores in my size are for pre-pubescent girls so I get mine online at Victoria Secret. They're my size and don't look like they're made for a 10 year old.

I wear 46D/44DD the best fitting ones I've found are actually the wal-mart cheap ones. I have found a few playtex that fit. I have a horrible time with underwires, I know they're better but I can find very few that are comfortable enough to wear all work day.

Flip side my 14yr old daughter wears a 36B and they are all padded, she does not need nor want anymore padding. She is one of the biggest breast wise in her class and is embarrased by it, add 1/2" of padding and it's even worse.

My SO has a hard time finding bras that have sturdy straps. She's 36DD and the elastic straps are common and too bouncy.

It depends on where I'm shopping for bras really. I'm right on the border between an A cup and a B, so what size I am depends on the store, style, etc. It always takes a few tries to find a bra that fits when I go somewhere new, but once I know how their sizing runs I don't have any issues.

Where are you shopping? I find 34DD everywhere… Target, Sears, Victoria's Secret…

It used to be really difficult until I started to shop for bras at Nordstorm. Their bra fitting specialists are very patient. They will go through a variety of brands, and sizes with you to help you find the prefect fit. Last time I went, they literally found about 20 cute styles in my size to try on. They really carry a lot of cute bras (surprisingly good for DD+). I generally wear something between 34(5D) to 32(6D) depending on the brand. The selection they have is amazing even for sizes most stores don't carry.

There is actually a small shop that I go to when I go out of state to visit family. Their bras are not exactly cheap ($40-100+), but they are well made and last a long time and do free fittings to make sure you find the right size.

I would say look around for the smaller shops that really just do lingerie/swimwear. You may have more luck that way.

I hate that I'm a grown woman and that I actually wear a pink bra with cartoon frogs in it!

I have a hard time finding a bra in my size that I actually like. The bigger they get the weirder they look. I like my boobs, but I hate that bras are cuter small.

Whenever I get fitted, they say I'm in between a C and a D, which doesn't help at all because there are no in between sizes.

I am a 36 DDD/E and have a terrible size finding ones that fit! I usually end up getting a 38 DD and dealing with the not perfect fit.

I worked at victoria secret for a while...so although I paid through the nose for the 30+ bras I own...they all fit me absolutely wonderfully!
