Would you buy a SOLAR powered sex toy?

Contributor: Bignuf Bignuf
Why are there really no solar powered adult toys out there? Even if the device itself was not "left out" in the sun, perhaps the battery and charger unit could be? Maybe even a "battery pack" with the solar panel built in, that could be left on a window sill? I know I would buy it. Would you?

Yeah, I'd probably get something like that as long as it was affordable enough.

It's not a practical solution - the charging times would be too long and power levels would be inadequate.

Not at the moment because I don't have anywhere to lay it out without worrying that someone would see it. Even in my room, I worry about someone snooping.

Sounds pricey. And solar power so such a small personal item seems like a waste of resources to make it.

absolutely, I'd be worried about the vibe strength though.

Love the IDEA, but I've had bad luck with solar powered bike lights. They just don't get charged up!

We have the solar powered bullet vibrator from Cal. Exot, and it's pretty cool.

I would be more likely to purchase rechargeable batteries and use a solar charger to keep things going.

Maybe, if I lived outdoors in a tent. ***I meant that as a joke.

We do not have the technology, as of yet, for reasonable application. You would be better served having solar panels on your roof, which would then provide the energy needed.

With where I live I would find it hard to confidently keep it charged.

I've seen the solar powered bullet but it's no longer sold on eden, guess it didn't sell much.

I have a friend who bought a solar battery charger. He uses it for backpacking and it works fine. I don't have one myself, but if I ever decide to do long-distance hiking again, I'll probably get one.

As far as sex toys, I'd rather just charge batteries and then put them in the sex toys. Just seems more practical.

If it was equally fast at charging as rechargeable toys and powerful enough to suit my needs, sure, but in a sex toy it comes across as a gimmick rather than an environmental statement.

Solar flashlights are now "dime a dozen". It really could be made inexpensively.

We have no children at home now. It is just hubby and me. We leave our sex toys on our nightstand all the time. It gets ton's of sun during the day. We would love it to be getting some use, by charging them up.

Very true. The overall effect to power conservation wouldn't be squat.
