If you were thinking about green toys and it came down to a toy from the Leaf line and a sun powered toy which would you choose and why? Which do you think is more green, and environmentally responsible to purchase?

Which of these toys is greener and why? And which one would you choose?

On one hand Leaf products seem to be of a better quality, assuming that the manufacturer cares more about such things. On the other hand you really don't need anything at all to use the Solar bullet. So I guess it depends...

Agreed, I have been thinking a lot about it too, though Solar Bullet is just something I can't miss out on, as ANY jack plug vibes run with it, so it is pretty much the most versatile "prepper's vroomer" with a direct solar charging! ^^ (USB and AC/DC vibes can also run or solar power, for USB you need stuff to charge your USB ported stuff with solar power (see my reviews for reference), and for AC/DC you can always have solar power in yer home! ~grins ^^)

the leaf looks so cool
05/23/2012
My choice would have to be the Leaf.
05/24/2012
I would choose the leaf but I have wanted the solar bullet for a while now.
05/24/2012
solar bullet looks neat
05/24/2012
Leaf products!
05/24/2012
Probably Leaf products

I have not tried either of those products, but I want to try the leaf brand toys because they seem to be nice toys. HOWEVER from what I've read, their packaging is not very GREEN; I don't know how the solar bullet is packaged.

Its a HUGE energy output to make a solar product. You are truly at this point better off going with Life. IDK about packaging, just manufacturing of the actual product.

I think Solar bullet is greener in terms of Eco-friendliness. Life is greener in term of color.

I own the solar bullet, and it started malfunctioning less than a year after purchase. At first I thought it was the bullet part, so I replaced the bullet head, but it turned out that the solar part stopped holding a charge.
Has anyone else had that experience?
I loved it for its purpose; a solar toy is such a great concept. California Exotic Novelties just didn't follow through on quality. Now I buy vibrators that can plug in to charge.

Life. The solar powered bullet looks weak and low-end
07/17/2012
Solar powered? that's so cool
07/17/2012
It depends on your priorities. The solar powered one is more green but weaker and the life is stronger but probably less green

I pick the life because it looks more green. I don't think sex toys are green, they are mostly luxury products, not necessities.

I got rid of mine, so I couldn't say. However, the quality was definitely poor. It felt so fucking cheap. Just, eww. Holding it grossed me out. And that stupid LED light on the tip of the bullet. Um, what?

Go with the Life - less need for replacement because of high quality = less packaging and other crap.

I want a leaf :0)
11/21/2012
I have a Leaf and I've owned the solar bullet. The Leaf is the way to go! If you want to be green you need to use something you won't have to replace, and the Leaf will last a long time. The solar bullet is not worth it, and likely won't get you off, so you'll end up needing to replace it anyway.

Thanks for bringing the Solar Bullet to my attention! Gonna go check it out now.

Solar bullet isn't energy-friendly on the whole. It looks like sort of a gimmick or item for a camping trip.

Sun sounds like a gimmick.

most solar energy products are more for novelty purposes and the current trend in the "green" movement. But totally not practical, and probably not very well made. While it saves on cost of batteries and the waste they put off, you be much better off with a rechargeable toy like Leaf products. I think Leaf dose a good job on making simple designs that make you think about the environmental savings the company strives for (using recycled materials for the packaging, ect). Not to mention Leaf products are 100% body safe and are made of silicone while the other product is plastic.

life, looks better quality and is more my kind of toy.
