I'm bisexual and currently in a relationship with another bisexual female. I've had one lesbian girlfriend. I think a lot of times if you tell someone you're bisexual, as your options stated, another female (lesbian) may think you're just 'confused' and wanting to experiment. For me, people don't take my bisexuality seriously and think that I'm just going through a 'phase'. It's often times hard because I've been with a few insecure females who have worried that I'd one day leave them for a male. It's frustrating and difficult, but you just have to weed through relationships until you find the right one. My girlfriend now knows I love her, and she's not worried about our relationship constantly as some of my exes have been.

sometimes it takes having to have an open conversation and really explain bisexuality to people, in an attempt to correct misconceptions. and then there is tiresome part of alleviating their insecurity, which is not reserved for females- I've had to do that with men too.

yup! Frustrating not being taken seriously. When i was young, i had lesbian friends who thought i was in "denial", that i just didn't want to accept i was a lesbian. straight friends who thought me being into women was a "phase". Straight boyfriends who initially thought it meant i couldn't be monogamous.

but to be fair(or hypocritical), so many women DO experiment that if i were to date a bisexual female again, i would ask quite a few questions before risking my heart (having learned from past experiences) but to me , that's similar to the typical convo of "is this just a sex thing or do u want it to go somewhere?"

Where I live, the LBGT community is pretty strong & has a strong presence.

You could research the internet for your area to find a LBGT community & make contact w/ them.
