I have heard you are not supposed to throw batteries away in the normal trash, but dispose of them in certain locations. How do YOU get rid of your batteries?

I stash them until there's enough to warrant a trip to the city dump where they have a place to take them and do a proper job of disposing of them.

I love my rechargeables!

I only have rechargeable toys.

We have mostly rechargeable batteries, but we throw away regular batteries when they're done. If they were manufactured after 1997 you don't need to worry about the mercury content.

I mostly use rechargeable batteries but the ones that aren't I usually just throw out in the regular trash....

I wasn't really aware that there was a good way to dispose of them. That's good to know.

All my batteries just go in the bin when they're dead.

According to battery manufacturers (I'm assuming you are referring to non-rechargable ones), you can just throw them in the trash nowadays.
They changed the makeup of batteries a while ago that makes them safe to throw away.

I mostly use rechargable batteries but for the few things I own (probably just the TV remote now) that uses regular batteries, we hang onto them until we have stashed up enough to take to the recycling center where they take care of proper disposal.

I'm bad for the environment. >.>
