Divorced friend

I have a friend who just got divorced and I wanted to get her a gift for her divorce party but I don't know what would be cool without going over the top.

Bath and body products are always good, especially if they're in the scents she likes. When my divorce finally came through, I got a bottle of really good wine and an antique key pendant necklace ... "To the freedom of good drink, holding the key to my own heart, and the sweetness of making my own choices."

I'll second Chili's ideas. Basically anything about HER and to spoil HER. Now is the time in her life for her to take care of her self, indulge herself, and even be a little selfish. So anything bath and body is always good, or something she wouldn't buy for herself (fancy new bag or shoes) or even a gift card for a store she normally just stands outside of and drools. Just make sure whatever it is is all about her taking care of herself.

If she has a sense of humor, a sex toy, if not I would stick with the above suggestions, or take her somewhere to get pampered (like a massage)

All the above ideas are great! I would add really good chocolate. One lb Godiva truffles is my go to divorce gift. It's good for their brain chemistry, or at least I like to think so.

Agree with all of the above. Plus a promise of a shoulder to lean on whenever she needs it. Even if she is overall happy about the divorce there may be days when she's not. The best gift of all is knowing you have a friend to lean on even if you never do need to use that shoulder.

I'm curious what you did, but that's some great ideas.

I agree. My first thought was a battery-operated replacement for the ex.
