How does it feel? How different from other rigid materials?
Wood? Is it good?

It's rigid but very light. You can feel the lightness. Almost hollow feeling. Easy to use. Not my cup o' tea, unfortunately.

From the look of this toy, it looks heavy, but from what I heard, the toy it's self, when holding it, can be pretty light. Also, the girth is pretty... Stupendous. In my opinion, I believe wood, since, well, it's wood, will be really rigid, though not as much as glass, I don't think.

Wood makes me nervous. Does it ever wear down and become sharp or splinter like? Sounds crazy... I know.

I didn't used to think that I would like a wooden toy...
But I used to feel the same way about glass and steel and I've happily been proven wrong on both counts.
I don't currently have a wooden toy, but I'd love to try one!

It's very smooth, but I'm not wooden toy person... So, beyond that, I don't know.
