Which of these for my first real dildo?

Contributor: Ryuson Ryuson 11/24/2011

I'm looking for something with a flat base that's relatively small in size. I would prefer for it to be slightly flexible and body safe, and my boyfriend doesn't want me to get anything realistic (Which is why I haven't included the Vixskin Spur in this poll.) I would prefer not to go over $60. Which would you consider to be a good first dildo?

And if you could explain why that would be awesome!

I think either would be a good choice. Personally, I would go for the Flurry because of the dual density O2 silicone. The Flurry also has the double ridge. The Bandito will be firmer and has the benefit of a nice curve.

go with something closer to traditional at first and then work your way up to the scloopy loopy

Sedeux please

This is a link to my review. The sedeux please is small in size with a flared base. It is good choice. I have not used either one of the choices you have up there, but the O2 looks fun.

Thanks for the recommendation! Would that be good for g-spot play or is it too soft? Great review, by the way!

Hmm~ All the reviews for the sportsheets dildos say that they're not good for vaginal play because of the size? Anyone have any experience with the Sedeux Flare?

Try the Silky! link The blue color is unrealistic, it's very soft and forgiving, and it will hold any curve you bend it into so you can figure out what you like best

I always liked the Silk Medium for a good basic dildo. Or, if you want something really little, it comes in Small as well. Can't complain about 100% silicone, and Tantus always does good work.

Personally, I prefer the Spur of my small toys, and I'd just go ahead despite what the guy said, but I'm not you. Besides, the Spur needs to be stored more carefully than normal silicone, which is space-consuming.

Of the two you posted in the poll, I would go with the Flurry. I have its close relative, the O2 Cush, which is excellent. The dual density material is great, and the dual "heads" of the Flurry should provide added stimulation without irritation due to the soft nature of the outer material.

My first dildo was also a Tantus product, the Acute. It's a good price, a nice size for beginners, and has a great angled curve. I'd recommend it as a starter dildo for sure.

Thank you so much for the suggestions! Right not I'm leaning more towards either the Silk Medium or the Bandito!
The Tantus brand really does look high quality!

I don't have either, but the bandito looks really really good for g spot stimulation!

Thanks for the vote! I keep going back to that one even though the O2 has so many more votes!

I'm considering getting my first soon! I've never actually had a plain regular dildo, just various types of vibrators. Of these, I would go with the O2. But I've really had my eye on this. It is really pretty, it's silicone, AND it can vibrate if I want it to!
Once it's back in stock and I have enough points I'd really love to get it...but I'll probably have to wait a while.

I want a blue Flurry. I already have a purple O2 Revolution and like it, and think the Flurry would be great for when I don't want something quite so girth-y.

I think the O2 Flurry is a great choice because of the dual density silicone. My first dildo was the Lelo Ella, which is great for G-spotting and totally couple friendly, but doesn't have a flat base like you wanted.

I really want that, too, but I'm looking for something I can put on a chair/pillow and... You know the rest of the story!
Thanks for the vote!

I'd go for the O2 any day, but personally I don't see why, if it's for you, your boyfriend's opinion counts here ^^;;

I was going to suggest my favorite dildo, the Tantus VIP, until I saw your boyfriend doesn't want something too realistic. Then I was going to suggest my next-favorite*, the Gold Laced G, but I saw you wanted something soft.

So honestly? I'm voting Bandito. It comes in a nice lavender, it's a beginner's size, it's swirly and pretty. I love the feel of their Wave, which I assume is pretty similar. And it's just a little bit softer than my preference, which means it's prefect for just about everybody except me So go with your heart, dear. Try out the Bandito!

Go ahead and sample some O2 in the future, too... but I'd start with a standard one first. That way you'll have something to compare the dual density with in the future.

*Not including NobEssence, those are a little outside the price range for a "first dildo," but if money's no object, Smooth S Shape!

Right On!! I concur. Who are we pleasing? You should get what you like; maybe your boyfriend could get his own

Do take a look at LELO Gigi, even though it doesn't have a base as you like; I got this for my wife and she loves it for clitoral and g-spot stim.

The O2 flurry looks nice and would be my pick out of the two you had chosen. I myself covet the ella and would really like one but it doesn't have the flat base you're after.

Boyfriends who are threatened by realistic dildos are silly. What do they think, you're going to dump them for a piece of flesh tone silicone but not the blue one?

I voted for the O2 because the dual density has a really unique feeling. Almost like skin over an erection.

But, you should buy whatever dildo you feel is going to be the most fun for you. One thing: dils with G Spot hooks can be harder to thrust with than other dildos. It depends if you'll be using it for thrusting or not. Of course, if you have a nice time with G Spot play, then the one with the G Spot hook is perfect.

Hard to make a choice, isn't it.

Flurry because the material might be a little more forgiving. I haven't touched the bandito but if you're looking for something with texture but don't know if you like texture yet.. Flurry is the way to go.

It really is not that good for g spotting, it is too soft and flexible, but works well for anal. Thanks for the compliment.

I think you would appreciate the dual density and high quality of Tantus' O2 Flurry. The strong curve of the Bandito may not be a stellar choice for a first dildo.

If I can throw in my two cents, I would suggest Doc Johnson's Platinum Original. It is not dual density like the O2 Flurry but it is 100% medical grade silicone, inexpensive, has a flat base, and a pronounced head. Although I have a relatively extensive collection, the Platinum Original is still my favorite- and least expensive- dildo. Good luck on your hunt : )
