Is the varnish on the wooden dildos, toxic or permeable etc.. how do we find out more about it?
What kind of varnish do the wood toys use?

I have been wondering that also. I was thinking something like TUNG OIL. That is about the only non toxic oil that hardens by its self I can think of. But I have not been able to find any info on that.

I am not exactly sure what it is. I know on the website for one company they say they use "salad bowl finish", but I am not sure what that really is. I know that is supposed to be body safe and that it can be washed without any problems (although I wouldn't keep it soaking for a very long time. My suggestion is to look at the company site for the toys you want to try so that you can get the most complete info

The wooden dildos here at Eden I BELIEVE are soaked in a resin and fired (or at least this is so for the Treeze brand toys), non-porous and able to be bleached or wiped with rubbing alcohol for sterilization.
"The wood fibers are saturated with a urethane resin, and then cured at a high temperature under pressure to create a smoothly molded piece that will not splinter or crack. " As seen in the material/texture section of the description review for the Treeze Small Bubble Plug .
Also, we have a material guide that can help you figure out what's best and safest for you. Click here to read all about wood. Hope this helps you all! ^_^
