Vixskin - Which One?

Contributor: Envy Envy
I've been looking over the Vixskin dildos, intrigued. I have a Bad Dragon small cored anthro dragon, and I am assuming this is about the same. (Soft outer shell, hard inner core.) However, most seem about the same length or thickness. What one would you guys recommend to someone who is new to the material?

Also, is there any real difference between the Randy in silicone and in Vixskin? Does the Vixskin one squish more?

And does Vixskin need to be cared for a certain way? Or is it just like taking care of regular silicone?

I'm not sure about Randy because I don't have either one but I've wondered the same thing.

And I believe VixSkin is cared for the same way as regular silicone but since I'm not sharing I haven't really done any serious cleaning. I always just wash with soap and water.

Hope I can bump this up a little so someone who knows more can help you out =)

I recently got the Mustang and I LOVE it.

No idea about Randy, and yeah VixSkin is cared for the same as any other silicone toy.

We got the Johnny VixSkin, and it's outstanding. You don't have to do anything any differently from other silicone toys to take care of it, but it *is* slightly stickier than a Tantus dildo so you might feel better if you dust it with corn starch or something for storage. That's not a necessity for its upkeep though.

Get as big as you can comfortably take.

VixSkin needs to be protected from cuts much more than "harder" silicones, and it also is potentially more reactive with silicone lubes (avoid using them). All really soft silicones can also develop "flat spots" if you leave them squished for too long.

Other than that they're pretty indestructible.

I just got the Outlaw, which in addition to being AMAZING, is my first Vixskin toy. It is the most likelife material for a sextoy I have ever felt. It feels like a real penis with a little bit of sweat on it (making it ever so slightly tacky). Althought the core is firm, the surface is squishy, which makes it easier to get larger toys inside you. I laughed at first when I saw how thick the Outlaw was, but it felt really good inside of me.

The only special care requirement I noticed is that you are supposed to store the Outlaw in standing position to keep the shape. Otherwise, you can treat it like you would most other silicone toys. It is boilable and dishwasherable.

Hmm... Standing position might be difficult as I store things under my bed to hide them.

I have some Vixen toys in both materials. I have the Mistress in vixen silicone, Raquel, Randy and Tex in Vixskin. Both are tacky feeling, but so squishy and lovely. Even the regular silicone versions are soft, but the vixskin has the firm core that makes it feel more realistic. I recommend both materials.

Is the regular silicone softer than say, Tantus or Sportsheets?

I also have an outlaw, I feel more comfortable using it with a "mgnum condom" even though I;ve been told it is unnecessary. The dishwasher appears to me very adequate, after a quick prelim with soap and water. I'm concerned about cuts as the outer layer is soft but so far, and some rough use, no problem Never heard about storing it upright!

Vixen's silicone is noticeably softer than Tantus'.

Yes, the VixSkin material squishes more than the regular Vixen Creations silicone -- and it feels more realistic.

And I highly, highly, highly recommend the VixSkin Johnny! The combined squishiness, girth, G-spotting curve, and big head are absolutely fantastic. Raquel is also very, very nice. It also has a nice G-spotting curve. The Johnny is a bit girthier than the Raquel, though the Raquel has a nice smooth "bulbous" tip that feels very nice. I wholeheartedly recommend them both. The VixSkin dildos are my favorite silicone dildos -- hands down (er, balls down?).

As Scott has already mentioned, the softer silicone requires a bit more care during storage. I kept the containers for both my Johnny and my Raquel and I store them in it to prevent anything pressing against them that could leave indentations. Also, I stand them on their bases while air drying to prevent objects (such as other toys or the towel it is on) from leaving an impression. You could, of course, just dry them off with a lint-free cloth instead of air drying them. (What can I say? I'm lazy!)

The cleaning of VixSkin would be the same as with other silicone, other than taking care with the above precautions.

Ah okay. Thanks guys! I just wish there was a comparison video review of the Vixskin Randy and the silicone Randy. (Something about that solid girth is drawing me towards it.)

I just leave my vixskin stuff sitting up in a box in my closet. That way they get aired out and nothing presses against them. Don't need to 'treat' them in any other way.

I wasn't trying to say that VixSkin needed to be "treated" in any unique way other than just not allowing anything to press against them. Keeping them in their original cases works, just as your method of keeping them standing up in a box with nothing pressing against them would work. I move my toy collection from place to place a lot, so that method would not work well for me since the toys would be jostled around in the box and fall against each other. But if the box was left undisturbed all the time in a closet, then, yes, that would work fine. I just kept the original containers so I could rest assured that nothing could end up leaning against them.

One of our other reviewers on this site had warned us that one of her VixSkin dildos had permanent marks left behind simply from laying on its side on a towel to dry. So storing them with other toys directly against them (or with any other objects which could lean against them) could definitely leave indentations. I was just trying to give someone who has never had a VixSkin product a helpful heads-up so that they would not experience the unhappy occasion of finding their expensive toy with some slight, yet annoying, deformations.

Vixen standard silicone: soft (noticeably softer than Tantus or Fun Factory, but a bit firmer than most TPR)
VixSkin: really soft core, stiffer inside.

The Vixskin Randy and the Original Formula Randy are the same dimensions. The Vixskin Randy does have a bit more "give" due to the softer material. Thanks for your interest, I'm sure you will love whichever you choose!

I got the Raquel, and i have to say that it is VERY soft. Unfortunately it may be too soft. The shape of the raquel is extremely bulbous and not designed for Male usage i think. go with a more realistic shape and you will have a harder head. . .that is if you want a harder head.

Is the Outlaw not the bomb? That thing feels so real it is scary, it's about 1 1/2 times the size of my cock but it is awesome for strap on fun. It is very pliant for entry but firm enough for great friction and it has a little tacky "drag" for proper stimulation. Prostate--look out!

So even without a curve it's good? I went with the Maverick for the curve, but I'm starting to wish it was a bit longer.
