i recently purchased a dildo that was 8 inches long and 1 7/8" inches in width. Anyway, it was slightly too big and uncomfortable but did go inside of me so I am trying to figure out what size would be better for me. I am interested in a toy that is about 8 inches long and 1 3/4" in width. Do you think that would work for me?

And how firm was the dildo you used? The softer it is, the bigger it can be and still fit inside you.

Yes - definately keep in mind the flexibility and firmness of any toy you purchase.

1 3/4" is still pretty big. I'd go with 1 1/2". But yes, it depends on material. if it's 1 1/4" in glass, for instance, it will feel bigger than a 1 1/4" silicone dildo.

I totally agree about the material making a difference! I can take something much larger if it's made from something like CyberSkin, VixSkin, or something like the O2 line.

Thanks everyone! I wanted to check this the other day but wasnt able to get to the computer. It was 1 7/8" inch made of cyberskin... so I am probably gonna take the suggestion of 1 1/2". Thanks so much!

Try the vac cu lock UR3 8x2 inches, it is one of my favorites. The real feel material makes this one very comfortable and I adjust to it fine. If this is still not the right one than the perfect realistic might be the right fit for you. Keep in mind that it only comes in rubber and not UR3. Hope this helps you. Keep me posted!

It depends on which orifice(s) you plan on inserting it, and the material it's made of. for example, I can deepthroat this one link , and take it in my ass easily.

I'd say start smaller (girth anyway, length can always be adjusted on the fly) and move up if you start feeling unfufilled. The smaller dildo can always be kept around for days when you want something smaller, or for anal use (either as a main toy or for warm-up).
I'm a big fan of silicone, almost everything I have is made of it and I'd urge you to consider it. It's completely non-reactive, can be easily cleaned so you can use it in multiple places, and at the 1-1/2" diameter size, still affordable (the bigger dildos do get more expensive, though)

I agree with starting smaller. I also think you should get multiple sizes and materials. That is if money isn't the big issue. Getting a couple of sizes can help not only make it more comfortable and perhaps help you work up to something bigger, but also help cater to moods. Sometimes you may feel more swollen than others and a size can feel different from one day to the next. Also, you may want to look into a good lube to help out a bit. It sounds like something so simple, but it can make a big difference in toys that don't have easy gliding surfaces.
