Silicone dildos

Contributor: JoyLoy JoyLoy
I've read that silicone is a very good material when sharing, playing anal etc...But my wife is concerned about silicone because her aunt had implants and she ended up with "silicone poisoning".
Is there another material as good as silicone?

Well, "silicone poisoning" is unrelated to using silicone toys! We have only silicone dildos and vibes and never heard or experienced any "poisonings" from them.

You may go with Glass or Metal, they are both safe when sharing or playing anal. But these materials are harder than silicone...

I'd say VixSkin would be your best bet! It boasts the superior hygienic qualities of silicone while retaining the realistic look and feel of cyberskin.

Poisoning from silicone implants is a result of gel leaking out of the sac of an implant- gel that was never meant to come into contact with the internal body. The silicone in implants is a different form, and there are other chemicals involved in those items that are dangerous for the body.

Firm silicone used in sex toys does not shed or leak in that manner, and is by far the best option for softer sex toys (i.e. not glass or metal).

Glass and metal are good options, but you do need to be careful when using these materials anally. The anus is delicate and curved, so toys with some flex that can curve with it are safer.

What CW said. Basically, the silicone used in silicone toys is medical grade, and is what they use when silicone is implanted in the body nowdays (such as calf implants, etc). It's 100% body safe; no one is allergic to it, it doesn't leach chemicals, etc. The silicone that used to be used in implants is NOT body safe, hence it being in a container. The problem occurs when that container leaks.

If she's REALLY not ok with silicone, and doesn't want to use glass/metal because they're too hard, PLEASE use a condom on whatever other material you choose!

Here is an article from the President (I think) of Tantus:
link
It talks about how silicone breast implants are a problem while silicone toys and lubes are not.
