As my exploration into sex toys continues, I've noticed that not all silicones are alike.

Is there any kind of rating for density in silicone? Or perhaps do different companies have more squishy or more stiff silicone toys?

I would love to hear your thoughts on this.

I don't know of a standard rating scale for the density of silicone in the sex toy industry, but there definitely is a difference in density when comparing toys from various companies. I have silicone toys from several companies and I came up with a scale (from most plush/soft to most firm/dense) in this review, in case it helps:

Unfortunately the silicone densities can vary in different product lines from the same company too. The companies that Selective Sensualist mentioned seem to be pretty consistent, but we've had silicone toys made by another manufacturer that have varied from jelly-like to Tantus-level densities.

Wild. It's an interesting material. Honestly, I had no idea there was such variety until I got into sex toys. The geek in me really wants to learn more about it!
