Just put some used Vixskins in the Classifieds section.

That made me wonder: how many would buy used vs only new? I know that they can be boiled and sterilized, etc. was wondering what the sentiment was out there...

Also, how does one know that the dildo you just bought new, was not returned previously and cleaned? Any thoughts on this?

as for selling, you can only assure a potential buyer that you sanitized a product & the process you used. as for buying new, you really have no absolute guarantee it's clean &/or sanitized. that's why it's always a good idea to thoroughly clean before using. the better the reputation of a retailer, the less likely you'll be buying used toys.

i've purchased or traded several used toys. regardless of what the previous owner did - i do my own sanitizing.

I have a ton of toys that I no longer use - i'd love to sell them or even give them away. email me if you're interested.

I have bought some used ones on here. Never had a problem with them. I checked the seller profiles, they all had lots of good reviews and had been here for quite some time. As soon as they arrived I did my own sanitization just to be sure.

I just bought my first toy (due to arrive by tomorrow night!), and before exploring the site and around the net, I didn't stop to think that reselling would be an option. It makes sense for materials that can be sterilized, so for me, it would mainly depend on the reputation of the seller. I'd feel comfortable buying used (and sterilizing on my own) from someone on here; however, if I saw my own profile I wouldn't buy used since I'm so new to the site.

If you get addicted to this site like the rest of us it won't take you long to get quite a few reviews done and fit right it. Most people resell because it didn't work for them or was not what they thought it would be. I have quite a few that fit that description but hold on to them in hopes one day they will work. I also found this to be a good way to get high end toys for a reduced rate and see if I like the company or their line of items.

Thanks for the welcome and the additional info! I could see myself easily getting addicted to the site, as I am really interested in figuring out what toys/types of toys and "bedroom accessories" work for me.

There are more than 40 on my list. I tried the classifieds a while ago with no response. I had the same problem with Graig's list - I guess I'm not patient enough to keep re-posting.

You should try the classifieds again. Times change and, depending on when you post them, you might be able to sell out most very quickly or have to wait a bit. After all, people aren't made of money or always looking. ; D

I wouldn't buy used. It's just not sanitary to me. I don't look down on those who do. I just can't bring myself to buy used.

Supposedly, boiling them or putting them in the dishwasher sanitizes them. Not sure if I would call them 'sterile' per say, not sure if the companies do actual research on this or not. Anyone know?

Agreed. Now I will use toys that partners have used so long as they either can be sterilized, used with a condom or are being used with a fluid bonded partner. But actually buying used toys, I just couldn't bring myself to do so.

It depends on the material. If it's steel or glass, wouldn't it be the same as letting somebody borrow your fork or your glasses, in the sense of you having to wash and sanitize them?

This is gonna come out sounding really wrong. lol But let me give it a try. When it comes to my sexual health I never trust the word of my partner. Far too often people can easily pass off that they are monogamous to the world around them while all the while sleeping around.

As to the buying them used, I think my biggest issue is the fact that it is used. Kinda weirds me out a little to think about using a dildo or vibrator that someone I never met used.

I can tell that you are not married. How is it that are you "sleeping" with someone that you cannot trust?

It's understandable about the used issue though.

Not my thing. I don't really know why, but something about it bothers me and I just couldn't.

Though if it doesn't bother you, seems fine to me. So long as everything is properly sanitized and not so old that it's falling apart.

You forgot to add underwear!!! (A big thing for me as well...no used undies!) Anyways, used toys are not something I am personally comfortable buying, I have a bit of a phobia or obsession with germs--as you can tell from my previous reviews or posts, lol!) I do think it is great to have an option to get rid of items that did not work for you, though.

Just because I'm a germ freak as well as very sensitive down there, I would only buy new toys.
