I've been really interested in trying a glass one, but I'm not sure which one I want of these two I have it narrowed down to. I'm a fairly tight woman down there, so I a little wary about the shape of the rose one but interested at the same time.

No. 17 looks like it might be good for g-spot play

Honestly, neither. Both are too large for your first time glass experience.
I suggest the Bent Graduate or Amethyst.

I agree with this even though I voted for the 17. I have that one and love it, but I am an experienced user. The bulb at the top is untapered and big, so you may have problems with it. Also, it is long and if you aren't careful as a beginner, glass can bruise your cervix during thrusting. Glass is extremely hard and rigid with no give at all. I would start out smaller. If the g spot curve is what your looking for I've also had both the Bent Graduate and the Amethyst and they work really well. If you want something you can thrust more and have plenty to hold onto, I would suggest something longer with a g spot curve.

If the G spot isn't your thing at all, then just look for something with a nice tapered head, nothing over 1 and half inches in diameter.

I agree both of those are to advanced for a beginner but of those two I picked #17.

If you have a pubic bone that tends to "catch" on toys, the 1 will make you miserable.
youll want something with a less curve and smaller head.
My favorite glass is the Sapphire Falls.

Bent graduate!!!

Having to choose out of those two, I like the Icicles No.17 due to the curvy shaft.

I would start off with a slimmer one---I love the Gold Laced G, myself. I have six glass dildos, some larger some smaller, and the Gold Laced G is both my favorite and the one I would recommend to a first-time glass user.
If you think you want a larger bulge, though, you could try a double-ended one with a bulge on one end, but an insertable handle end (instead of the uninsertable base that the Icicles have). The Bent Graduate that everyone else is suggesting is good for that, too.

I highly caution against the Pipedream Icicles No. 17 as your very first glass piece. I have the No. 17 myself, and as an "advanced" glass toy aficionado, I find this toy's large, perfectly round head a bit intimidating at times. And thrusting is out of the question with this toy (at least for me). Remember: A dildo made out of a hard material feels much, much larger than a dildo made out of a softer material. So even if you've used a toy of the same diameter that is made of silicone, TPR, jelly, rubber, or CyberSkin, glass will feel much larger.
I have the Gold Laced G, the Bent Graduate, Sapphire Falls, and the Cyclone Wand, which were all recommended by various people above. I second those suggestions. However, the Bent Graduate is my favorite out of all those; it is simply amazing and belongs in every single toy box, in my personal opinion. I not only love the G-spotting, hooked end but also love the "bloopy" end for thrusting.
The Gold Laced G has a fantastic texture that is "gentle," and it feel wonderful as a thrusting toy. Due to the gently stimulating texture, this glass toy would be a close second for me, next to the Bent Graduate.
I also enjoy the "bloopy," bubble texture of the Sapphire Falls as well as the perfectly smooth undulations of the Cyclone Wand. When compared to the Sapphire Falls, the Cyclone Wand is more easily thrustable, but they both provide such unique sensations.
I suggest trying a variety of different textures and shapes by buying several less-expensive models so that you will know what you like best in a glass toy. They all feel so amazingly different!

When my friends at work ask me about glass toys (I'm obsessed with glass these days) I always suggest going for the most simple toys first. If you have used other SOLID, ROCK HARD toys then pick the same way as you would other toys. But glass is quite heavy, even heavier than some metal toys from what I have heard. Bumps, ridges, bulbs, ribs, etc. can be much more overwhelming than they would be with a silicon toy... and can leave you in a lot of pain in many places. thrusting is a whole new story with these toys. Although, it can be done, it must be done more carefully, after you've gotten used to the toy. If you are a total beginner, buy toys that are beginner style. Less bulbs, LONGER, and SMOOTHER. Then, when you have fully gotten used to your toy, or gotten bored with it, whatever comes first, try something more advanced. Plus, try and get the full potential out of your glass. Experiment with temperature play, different types of usage (vaginal, anal, clitoral, etc.) and different levels of pressure and thrusting. If you don't like glass, don't buy another one thinking that will change.
P.S. - I have a glass toy that looks extremely similar to No. 17. I bought it elsewhere, and it wasn't labeled so I doubt it's from Icicles... but I still love it. Different colors, but same basic design. It was the first toy I ever bought. One long wand, a simple bulb on the end and a great handle. Easy to hold on to, and a perfect way to warm up to glass.

I go with Bent Graduate as well due to the small size. I would, however, avoid the No. 24. It's a great toy, but the head is a bit large for a new-to-glass user as it can be difficult/painful without careful use, so out of your two choices, I'd go with Number 17.
04/30/2011
No.17 looks good
04/30/2011
The no.12 is cute
04/30/2011
I also feel there are better choices for a first glass toy. I'd suggest starting small.
04/30/2011
I am new to glass and I agree with others that you should start with something a little smaller for your first time, especially if, as you said, you are a little tight down there. I have the Blue Swirl G and it is very nice for first time use.
04/30/2011
no.12 is awesome!
04/30/2011
N 12 looks great, but it will be more difficult for insertion.

I have these both, and I actually inherited the #12 from my friend because her eyes were bigger than her pussy, lol. I think both of these are great but you need to be careful not to hurt yourself. Maybe a smaller one to start with.

Did you perhaps mean that you suggest the No. 12 out of the two choices? The No. 17 has the largest head out of all the Icicles.

Number 12 wouldn't be best for first time with glass I don't think. I agree that something smaller would be better.

I would go with #17. #12 is so cute, but it might not be the best for your first time because of the textured head.
06/03/2011
#12 is cute, but you need to be advanced to use it and feel comfortable at the same time. #17 is beautiful, inviting, and the perfect shape to feel good but be friendly enough for yout body.
06/03/2011
They're both too large for a beginner. I would go with SSA Glass "amethyst" or "gold laced g"

Of the two, I would chose 17. Smoother, with a nice G-spot curve & bulge. I wouldn't try too much texture for your first glass toy.

17 looks great for g-spot play. Good luck deciding!

I'd say number 16 or whatever the 1st one was, not the rose! I'm still new with glass and I would not go for that rose. I don't like the head part being so... not easy. I don't think I'd find those edges pleasurable and it doesn't look beginner friendly. I prefer a smoother end to insert.

I voted for No. 17 but I do agree that both are fairly large for glass toys. My first one was fairly small and graduated in size. If it were me, I'd have to work up to something that big.

There are many better choices for glass out there - but between these two, hands-down #17

To start off with, I think I'd go for the with the ripples. The curve is nice, but it isn't really the same sort of rubbing feeling with glass.

#17! Why would anyone want that end on the #12 poking on the insides?

While the #17 is awesome, it's not a great first glass toy. It's big, and glass is a solid material.
