Magnum Bade Different from Model to Model?

EDITED TITLE: Magnum Base Different from Model to Model?

So I was looking at the toy I've been lusting over for quiiite a while. I'd like to have something I can peg my boyfriend with while I'm on my period, since all we have are versions of the Feeldoe , which, if you're not yet aware, is worn by a woman by holding the bulb in her vagina. Anyway. I noticed today, for the first time, that the base of the toy is different whether you're looking at a solid color or one of the pretty marbled ones. To me it looks like the marbled ones are thicker at the base, possibly making them more stable in a harness. See the pictures below?

My question is: Does anyone know why this is, and which base seems to be more sturdy? I'm dying for the lightning-y blue and white one, but apparently everyone is, because it's out of stock ^^;; Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks! ~Pixie

I don't know why it's like that.

I am not 100% sure, but I think the base was modified because the older models (the swirly ones) didn't stick well enough with the suction cup bottoms. Not sure if the new ones support one, but that could be why. (I had a Tiger before, the suction cup hardly worked on it.)

Wait, they have suction cups on the bottom? I'm so confused... I thought it was just a regular base...! the product page doesn't seem to say anything about a suction cup, hmmm......

If anyone from FunFactory comes in here... Does that mean the marbled ones won't be coming back?

I have a marbled one and it matches the picture you posted. No suction cup bottom on mine. It does however work well in a harness.

The base of the marbled one looks very similar to base that they have on their other stubs, such as the bandito or tiger. That base is concave on the bottom which is supposed to allow it to act like a suction cup and stick to smooth surfaces (e.g. shower wall). I have the black magnum and like shown in the picture, the bottom of the base is flat. Interesting enough, the magnum will also stck to the shower wall. As far as harness use, we've used both style bases (the bandito and the magnum) and both work perfectly fine.

They both work well in a harness? Do you ever find the Magnum base to be flimsy at all, or feel like it's going to bend and slip out of the ring? It looks a little thin, so I'm wary... Plus I'm heartbroken over the discontinuation of the marbled colors...

Being silicone, it's fairly flexible. For both the bandito and the magnum, I can take the base in my hand and fold it taco style without much effort.
We use the Spareparts joque harness and it fits tight to the ring in that harness so it's not going anywhere. As long as you have a ring that fits properly to the toy I wouldn't foresee any issues.
If your really set on something from Fun Factory, there is also the Tiger which has the same dimensions as the Magnum, but has the thicker base. The major difference is the ridges that it has rather that the smooth Magnum. We've used the Share XL which has similar ridges on them and we found that a little bit more warm up was required.
Otherwise, there are plenty of other choices available for silicone, but I agree, the marbled look is super cool. I suspect that it's more expensive to produce but honestly I'd pay a bit more something that looks cool and is a departure from the usual black or red color choices that are typically available.

Holy woah! I just looked up the Tiger, and I gotta say, that is WAAAY too much texture for my boy's poor bum O_O Same goes for the Share XL, unfortunately. I guess I'll start looking around at the other silicone choices, but nothing is gonna hold a candle to the beauty that was the marbled Magnum. *sigh* It's really too bad. Anyway thanks so much for all your information and advice, I appreciate it!

My guess is that the marbled ones are that of 2 different fills making them marbled in the first place making the base thicker probably means that more silicone was used during there creation. Other than the solid version that looks like a standard base.

I messaged a representative at FunFactory, and was told that the swirled ones were a limited edition that isn't made anymore I'll have to hope that it wasn't quite as popular on other sites if I want to find one....

I have no idea why they have this difference. Looks like the thicker base would be more stable.

I think they just moved from the thick base to the thin, suction base. The marbles have been around for a long time and the plain colors are new to Eden and the base matches the new Amors.

I have a marbled one and a solid color one. Both work well in harness play. I've never had an issue with my solid one falling out or anything.

The older Fun Factory dildo base is thicker like the marbled ones. Their new base is thinner like the solid ones. Both work as suction cups (though not always very well) and both are harness compatible. I don't think any Fun Factory dildos still come with the old base, so if you see that in a picture it just means it's old.
